Since I'm hoping that Capers will accurately assess the talent on this squad and then implement his schemes to use that talent to its potential, I have to believe that Hawk will shine.

Going off of what he did in college and when he's showed flashes w/ the Packers, the kid definitely has the physical tools to get the job done; you have to hope that if he's used right he'll live up to his draft position.

Hope so. I really like AJ Hawk. He has a cool name. He is physically gifted. But like mention above he just kind of sits there and waits for the ball carrier to come to him.

I just don't think he is the same beast as he was in college, the NFL is a whole different game and now he's surrounded by and up against the best of the best. I think he was a little overrated with really high expectations for an immediate dominant impact coming out of the draft (deservingly so). Time will tell on this cat.

I am confident that whatever scheme the Packers ultimately implement, they will thoroughly review the tape from this season and come to the same conclusion we have: that A.J. Hawk is a player who must be released to act on instinct, rather than react to the situation. I think that decision alone, absent significant injury next season, will improve Green Bay's defensive performance.

I'm more interested in seeing barnett back in action. Liked his style much better then hawks.

Like the guy said above many times I would see hawk not going full out when he needed too (thinking of a play where he was supposed to be on a TE and then they scored a touchdown - forgot which game).

During Hawks time at Ohio State, what defense did they run? 3-4 or 4-3?
