Letroy Guion's criminal case was closed on Tuesday, and the Green Bay Packers free-agent defensive tackle is now free to continue his NFL career. Guion will not be prosecuted, and there will be no criminal record stemming from his Feb. 3 arrest in his hometown of Starke, Florida, according to a source familiar with the case. "It's over," the source said. Guion was pulled over for erratic driving and police found 357 grams of marijuana and an unloaded gun (which was registered to Guion in Minnesota) in his 2015 Dodge Ram truck.

I guess we won't be drafting a nose tackle then.

Provided that the Packers sign BJ Raji and Letroy Guion as well , there will be quite a healthy competition for the starting NT position .

I'm not sure how Guion escaped prosecution in Florida , but I'm quite sure the commissioner will have something to say . Will the Packers welcome him back ?

The off-season reminds me of a Mystery movie where you never know what is waiting around the corner to either aid or setback the progress of the hero character (The Packers) . Let us all hope that our hero discovers treasure and lives happily ever after .

Ideally, the reason the Raji signing is still just rumored is that the Packers were waiting on the Guion situation and will sign him INSTEAD of Raji. I know I'd rather have a Pennell/Guion combination. What I'd really rather is that they do like last year, and play an increasing percentage of downs with no huge NT in there - either a 3 man line with Daniels/Boyd/Thornton at the nose or a 2 or 4 man line with smaller interior D Linemen.

Re-signing Guion would be a slight positive, though.

Even though he reached a plea in FL. He will more than likely still be facing a suspension by the NFL either for conduct or for drug policy.

NFL is nearly replicating a double jeopardy in a slim sense when they dole out punishment after the judicial system does as well. NASCAR is also picking up this failure too.

Knowing that someone can just accuse me of something and I could have my name ruined and my career tarnished would be enough to make me think twice about being an athlete. Or I'd just be a recluse and hide, lol.

Mucky Tundra (23h) : RB Kareem Hunt as well
Zero2Cool (8-Mar) : Tyreek Hill also arrested before or during Chiefs time for assault.
Martha Careful (8-Mar) : Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested for assault. They are now even more likely to supplement the WR position

Zero2Cool (24-Feb) : Packers. 🤦
Zero2Cool (24-Feb) : One team.
Zero2Cool (24-Feb) : One team petition NFL to ban Brotherly Shove.
