GREEN BAY, Wis. — Charles Woodson had one word for what the Green Bay Packers did last season with linebacker Clay Matthews.
Well, two words.
"Awesome," Woodson said. "Awesome."
In fact, the decision to use Matthews at both his natural outside linebacker spot and also at inside linebacker for the first time last season was something Woodson envisioned years ago when he would talk football with Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers.
"What's crazy is when I was here, I used to try to urge Dom to use Clay a little bit more in other areas of the field," the Oakland Raiders safety said during an appearance Wednesday night in Green Bay to promote TwentyFourWines, the company he founded.
