I believe 7m a year is closer to his value than the 10m they paid out to Cobb was to his, and seeing some of the other RT contracts this FA it is far from unreasonable. Granted I’m not that comfortable with his injury history, however a contract can always be made to safeguard your cap from that sort of thing. So just like Cobbs contract the structure, incentives, etc tells us more than the face value. 7m, get it done, but try to stay at 3 or 4 years.

The truth is if we lose Bulaga we don't have his replacement on the roster and even if we draft a guy, lineman take a couple years to develop so its going to suck for atleast a year.

5 years/35 mil is fair enough, get it done Ted.

People also need to get over accepting exorbitant numbers other teams pay as justification for overpaying our guys. Albert Haynesworth and Suh don't mean its fine to pay Raji 15 million now.

Linsley was pretty good as a rookie, yes. Tretter's injury may have ended up being the best thing that happened to the line last year, because it brought Linsley skills to bear earlier than expected.

Bahktiari? Am I truly the only one who thinks the jury is still out? Yes, he was better last year. IMO, he's still not where I'd like a starting LT to be.

I advocate high draft choices for the OL every year. But not because I expect the high draft picks to jump right in and be where I want the Packers OL starters to be. Because I think that the Packer line is not good enough yet and I think the high draft choice will make them better than they are.

Tretter didn't fail to keep the C position, he lost it

Damn kids ... always forgetting where we put stuff...

As for Barclay's contract, that's presumptive

Tretter had a freak injury... a fumble drill injury in an OTA if memory serves. Bad luck.

But Tretter's injuries are excusable to you and Bulaga injuries aren't simple because it fits your argument.

Didn't Rodgers win an MVP and SB with Marshall Newhouse at T? That will kinda take the wind out of your sails.

Tretter did have a freak ACCIDENT. It wasn't even real football...doing a drill the team doesn't even do anymore. FREAK event. Not Bulaga... he's weak. IR candidate...and everyone is voting BB.

Again, please reply with Rodgers numbers with Marshall Newhouse at T. That will be fun.
