One interesting guy to me is Bruce Carter from Dallas. Back in the 2011 draft I remember seeing his name a lot being attached to the Packers. He could be the type of modest money FA signing that Ted likes too.

I can't help it, I STILL want Melvin Gordon in the first round. We absolutely DON'T need to waste a first round pick on a Defensive Lineman. I like the idea of Stephone Anthony or a similar ILB in the second round. Other than that, we don't have all that pressing needs, although you can always use good Corners and Safetys. I like the idea of picking up Bruce Carter from the Cowboys. He was an excellent player year before last. He was fairly good I think playing slightly hurt this year.

Possibly the biggest upgrade I expect next season though (other than the slim chance we actually do get Gordon) will be finally making decent use of players like Janis and Eliot, as well as Abbrederis coming back.

I'm glad to see that some have hung up the crying towel and left the pity party. The Packers are a team on the edge of a championship. Players must be resigned and needs acknowledged . The 2015 NFL Draft will offer a prime opportunity for the Packers to assemble the final missing puzzle pieces .

Put the past to rest and look to the bright future, unless you wish to continue feeling bad and pointing fingers . Many Smart, Fast, Strong players will available with the 2015 Draft. Let us discuss those needs and possible draft picks here in this thread. It was started for the Rah Ra's and the crying Nancey's and all that fall into place between them. Accept reality and join the discussion !!

I'll give this a shot.

Way to early, but if the draft was held this week, here is what I see Ted doing.

In a perfect world, Benardrick McKinney ILB 6'5" 245lbs Miss. St.

Would be the HHCD of 2015 and fall to The Packers at 30.

He is projected any where from 15 to 29 so it is possible.

If McKinney is gone look for Ted to go after a DT.

MAlcom Brown 6'4" 320lbs Texas could be an option or
Micheal Bennet 6'2" 288lbs Ohio State.

Right now Bennet would be a reach at 30. Small but still a reach.

I could see Ted trading out of the 1st rnd if his guy isn't there and he has a trade partner. If he could swing a deal and get an extra 2nd and 3rd that would give him many options.

An intriguing prospect is WR Dorial Green Becham 6'6" 225lbs from Oklahoma.
He is projected to go early 2nd rnd, Ted seems to have success drafting wr's in the 2nd, this could be hi guy.

That would still leave him with pick #60, and hopefully Denzel Perryman 6'0" 240lb ILB from Miami(fl) would be there.
He is a tad short but is projected to go right around #60.

The next option I see at ILB that might be available is Tre DePriest 6'2" 242lb out of Alabama.
He should be there at #90 and would be a solid 3rd rnd pick.

All I have for now, things will change as players are signed or let go, and rookies go through tryouts.

Should the Packers be willing to trade any players for Draft Picks ?
Should the Packers be willing to trade their 1st round draft pick ?
What positions do you feel the Packers are in greatest need to address ?
Who will Ted not pay to keep as they become free agents ?
Who in this Draft or the 2016/or 17 Draft should GB be looking at as future GB Quarterback/s ?
Running Backs ? Wide Receivers ?

Are you willing to step forward and present a Draft Plan for 2015 ?

I say again, we do NOT need a D Lineman in the early rounds. We also do NOT need a wide receiver (a lot of Janis and Abbrederis is what we need there). We do need a ILB early in the draft. I bet we take a Corner high also, given the free agent situation of Tramon and House as well as the fact that you can never have too many good Corners.

I STILL want Melvin Gordon - regardless of what anybody says/regardless of lack of need for a RB with Lacy, etc.. Gordon IMO is a once in a generation player, a true difference maker, before he's finished, one of the 2 or 3 best RBs ever. I will cry when somebody else drafts him; I will rant and rave and RAGE if he's there at #30 and the Packers don't take him.

In a sense I am on the same page as Tex here, but not necessarily on Melvin Gordon. I think we are pretty decent all over, with room to improve just about everywhere. That said, I say look for the best player available regardless of position. It may be we grab a CB or ILB. I am big on the NT kid from Washington who most predict goes 10 spots before the Packers pick.

Melvin Gordon may be available and he may rate better than a lot of other picks but drops because most teams think they can get a RB later.

Would it be nice to upgrade ILB? Of course but if there's a stud TE available do we pass him up? You never go wrong picking the best available every year, since the average career is 4 years, and everyone gets replaced sooner or later. At this point it's just too hard to tell who will be on the board at 30.

The thing with ILBs is this... Unless you have a Ray Lewis or a Patrick Willis, they won't be true impact players. As long as they're not a liability, you're set at that position.

You can spend your first rounder on a guy like McKinney, but you'll draft him on athleticism, mainly. He's finesse against blockers, not taking them head on. I feel like he has Hawk's tools, but also a bit of Hawk's problems.

I don't think Kendricks will be there when we pick. The rest, I wouldn't want to use my first round pick on. We'll see what Dawson does at the combine, I imagine that he'll shoot up the charts, but I don't know if we need a guy who's build like that.

A good NT, on the other side, is what a 3-4 defense relies on to be good. We've got a guy in Daniels who can man the DE position, we have some potential guys like Jones and Thornton hanging around at the other DE spot, but only an average player talentwise in Guion, Pennel and a guy who seemd to be regressing by the year, now coming off an injury in Raji at NT.

Even if we'd keep both Guion and Raji, I'd like to see Guion coming in as a rotational guy, since you can never have too many fresh big guys. Get a bit creative with Raji and move him around. Line him up in some of those 2-linemen packages together with Daniels. Even though he hasn't looked that impressive, he still has that impressive athleticism for a man his size.

Then get the rookie in to play NT.

If necessary, let him back up Guion this year and have him step in when either Guion or Raji leaves.

I'd love to see a guy like Shelton. There's no chance that he's available when we're picking, but nothing would improve this defense quite like an elite 2-gap talent at NT, who can move for a man with his ridiculous size, coupled with an ILB in round 3... Leaving our round 2 pick to get a corner, with a lot of our guys in contract years and none of them having shown that they can replace Williams as a starter.

Jordan Philips is an interesting prospect, as well, but somehow I doubt we'll pick another talented defensive linemen with back problems.

In conclusion... I have to look better at what's available and what our needs are, but I'm just not a big fan of picking up an ILB in the first round, unless he has some ridiculous talent or one heck of a skillset.... I'd love to see a NT, but I don't know if there's one worthy when we're picking.
