If he says he had rib and knee injuries that sidelined him, I'm not arrogant enough to say he's wrong.

The same fans whining about him taking himself out are the same ones that would whine if he couldn't make a play due to the injuries and would be saying he's selfish and should have sat out a few plays if need be.

I really don't understand how some of you can be so negative so consistently. Find some happiness for crying out loud.

Than all they need to do is say, he is/was being evaluated for a knee or other injury. But they showed him on the sideline. He wasn't being looked at, he wasn't moving around like he is trying to figure out his mobility or work out a cramp or something else. He was standing there.

If they would have simply made a statement either way. We evaluated him and decided to hold him out, the defense was playing well and even got an INT without Clay in the game. Than when we ended up in OT, we re-evaluated and determined we were best suited with him playing.

It stunk that when we needed him the most, he wasn't available. Better luck next year I hope.

Clay Matthews is a beast, most of the time.

However, I am beginning to think he may be becoming an "Iron Marshmallow"

Strong, but brittle on the outside and a little soft on the inside.

I could see that for the drive where SEA scores to go to 14, we were up 19-7 prior to that. But once they scored and came out and recovered the onside. If he was able to play, he should have been on the field.

Maybe but it still might not have seemed like desperation at that point. It probably should have but we don't know the feeling on the sideline at the time. I tend to agree with you I'm just trying to come up with some sort of reason why they thought he didn't need to be out there.

I'd also like to know if it was Clay's decision to sit or the coaches.
