I do not know....

Go back and watch coach M's press conference after the last game.

When he answered questions about Finley he had that (I'm spanking the monkey) look on his face. It was a look of pure bliss.

Love Gonzo as a player. Have for years. But I don't want him in Green Bay.

He'd be too expensive, IMO, and I don't see him as being able to play more than another two or three years at the most. He put up amazing numbers in KC, but he was also their only receiving threat. In Green Bay, he'd be at best the third or fourth read, and would spend most of his time blocking. I don't think he'd like that, much.

Besides, I actually like what we have in Lee and Finley.

I think Finley grew up a bit late this season, and has "skies the limit" talent. The kid could be a beast as he continues to develop....and provided the Packers utilize their TEs more.

There is nothing wrong with our TE's. The only reason we didn't get that much production out of them this season is because we had to use them to block most of the time due to the OL troubles.

Finley might be a year away next season.. but wait til that kid gets his head tightened completely on...

Much like Gates in SD.. Finley can cause extreme matchup problems for a secondary.. he has the ability to expose a linebacker and has the size to beat down most nickels and corners..

I for one.. think between Lee and Finley... and maybe a stout blocking TE.. we are set up pretty well for the next 2-4 years.. Gonzo is a addition that would add leadership and another threat, but a luxury at this point in my opinion.

Find that veteran leadership at positions of need.. hhrrrrmmm ... D and O line please.

Go ahead and say there's nothing wrong with our TE's.

But when the opportunity comes to get the best TE in the history of professional football, you take it.

What's all this crap about him not wanting to come to Green Bay? Almost every report said he was ready to pack his bags and come to the Tundra. When Thompson offered that third round pick, Gonzalez said he'd commit to three more years.

Sure, we have Finley and Lee. But I'd very much prefer to have three good TE's rather than two passable ones.

If he can make Tyler Thigpen look good, he can make Aaron Rodgers look better than Jesus.

Like it was said earlier Tony does not want to come to Green Bay and has it in his contract to block a trade. So this will not happen, I still say the whole circus last year will hurt us in getting Free agents to come play for us, hell our own players are thinking they won't be back.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Aaron Rodgers looks amazing without Gonzales. Now adding him would be great ... but why should we invest money somewhere that wasn't a problem last year? We've got Lee - Finley which are both good and Finley has the potential to be great. Now we should use that money to re-sign Jennings and sign a FA that would actually help this team improve on the area of the needs.

I can think of no compelling reason to bring Gonzalez to Green Bay, nor any scenario under which he'd possibly play to a high enough level to justify the cost necessary to secure him. We're no longer a TE-oriented offense. Our TEs are used primarily for blocking purposes.
