Coaches and players will never put an emphasis on the officiating, but when it comes down to playoff seeding, it really matters. The Buffalo game was a prime example. A weak secondary that needs to grab an arm or jersey to catch up to the receiver will be more noticeable than a secondary that is running stride for stride with the receiver when he holds an arm or gives a shove.

It's sad to have to think that a high profile game of great importance could be decided by which officiating crew will be on the field.

In week 17 and in the playoffs I've seen many crews just letting the players play. Ed Hochuli last year comes to my mind. In Freezing Lambeau he must have called only a few infractions.
