When Packers said "hope to see 49ers in the playoffs", I thought, are you freaking stupid? I feel the same about the Eagles saying they'd loved to see the Packers in the playoffs.

Perhaps if you were more focused on the GAME instead of Aaron Rodgers laughing and smirking, you might have narrowed the gap to less than 30 points!

The Packers had plenty of fun on Sunday against the Eagles. The Eagles think they had too much fun.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers allegedly laughed too much for the visiting team’s liking.

“Hell, yeah. That sh-t pissed me off,” linebacker Brandon Graham said, via Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com. “I wanted to get him. But at the end of the day, shoot, he was doing his job. More power to him. I guess we would be laughing if we were sacking him.”

“[H]e was smirking,” cornerback Nolan Carroll added. “He’s always been like that. You’ve seen it many times. He’s just one of those guys that jokes on the field. Whatever you present to him, whatever you show him, it doesn’t surprise him much.”

There’s a simple solution for it. The Eagles could have shut him up by beating him.

“It’s just one of them things where you want to smack that smirk off his face,” Graham said. “But I mean they definitely came to play. I’ve got to take my hat off to him. That’s the first time I have ever seen that.

“We started talking about it toward the end. We were like, ‘He’s been laughing at us all day.’ He’s a good quarterback, man. I would love to see him in the playoffs.”

Apparently, Rodgers would love to see the Eagles in the playoffs, too.

Subtly twisting the knife, that's what I'd call it - a GREAT way to deal with rivals that you thoroughly outclass - rubbing their nose in it without being so overt as to be called mean or a bully. Of course, you gotta keep on backing it up with performance, or else it can bite you in the ass.

Florio must be hard up for ideas. I don't see anything unexpected or out of the ordinary in what those players said.

It's something he might want to keep in check.

I remember there were instances where defensive players would pull up even if they had a shot on Favre. There's a certain respect factor. Say there was a fumble or an INT. A defensive player can "block" the QB, like Sapp did to Cliffy back in the day. They don't HAVE to, but they are allowed to take their shots.

But I don't think Aaron is over the top with mocking other teams or anything.

Laughing at them all day while beating their ass, that only makes me like Rodgers more. The fact that it pissed the other team off is just icing on the cake.

I never thought Rodgers was laughing AT the opposing team, anyway. I always thought he was just happy and excited and usually signaling some type of inside gesture to the sideline. I don't think it has much to do with the opposing team and just has everything to do with the Packers themselves. Don't flatter yourselves, Eagles.

Someone pointed out how excited defensive players get when they sack the quarterback. Most go crazy. This is no different, except that it's of a lesser magnitude.
