All politics aside, I read about this Polar Vortex thing, and it's something I don't think has ever happened in my long lifetime. There was/is a typhoon, of all things - Typhoon Nuri, which basically glanced off of or curved away from the coast of Asia, and turned east. It is made landfall with Gale force winds in the panhandle area of Alaska, then turned south through Canada and will affect most of the U.S. with cold temperatures. I've heard of hurricanes and Atlantic tropical storms turning east and affecting Europe, but never a Pacific one like this.

I bragged earlier about how nice and warm it is here in Texas, and it is GREAT tennis weather here today, but the Tuesday forecast here is high temperature of 63 Monday midnight, and then dropping temperature all day. Thursday through Monday we aren't supposed to get out of the 40s. I can't wait for Indian Summer hahahaha.

Right now I don't care the cause. I'm just hoping the snow stays on the ground long enough for the deer to move around and give me a better idea of their patterns around the new hunting stand I built this fall.

Regardless if it's a vortex, front or damned cyclone, ahead of it it's been snowing for 3 days up here in the U.P. Another 4-8 inches is predicted tomorrow night followed by temperatures in the teens for the rest of the week.
We haven't seen a shitty November like this since the damned Edmund Fitzgerald sank.

I had to run out to camp today and finish winterizing since it looks like the snow will prevent me from getting out there anymore this year.
This is the 1st time in over three decades that I have had to winterize before the end of deer season (Nov. 30th).
Today the lake was about 60 % ice covered. I haven't seen such a thing since 1982.
Looks like this is going to be a bad winter.

My local weather station just posted this on their FB page: "Arctic blast sent down by bomb cyclone." (seriously. I'm not making this up)

WTF is a bomb cyclone? Is it kind of like a Sharknado? And what do we do in the event of a bomb cyclone? Duck and cover? Stop drop and roll? Turn up the thermostat?

You know....as in "this cyclone is DA BOMB!!!"
As far as what you do, you don't "duck and cover", you "Cover your duck".
And you don't
Stop, drop and roll", you "stop, drop, and roll a joint".[grin1]

If I die in the Polar Vortex this weekend, it's been nice knowing everyone here. I hope this isn't my last post.

dfosterf (4-May) : FYI civilian companies swipe the S2 designation from the military. S2 is the intelligence branch up to brigade level. G2 is division level.
dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
    Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.
beast (4-May) : In theory, the S2 test how quickly a QBs brain can solve game like issues and how quickly they can do it.
dfosterf (4-May) : Are you gentlemen and at least one lady familiar with the S2 cognition
    Zero2Cool (4-May) : Maybe there isn't an issue.
beast (4-May) : NFL really needs to fix their position labeling issue, but I don't think they care
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Packers did not activate the fifth-year options for linebacker Quay Walker, with the goal of signing him to a contract extension.
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Matthew Golden spoke with Randall Cobb before draft. Looked like chance encounter.
packerfanoutwest (1-May) : from a head left turn?
    packerfanoutwest (1-May) : someone drunk?
    Zero2Cool (1-May) : Unlikely.
dfosterf (30-Apr) : How long until Jeff Sperbeck's family sues John Elway ?
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : Packers are exercising the fifth-year option on DT Devonte Wyatt, locking in a guaranteed $12.9M for the 2026 season.
beast (30-Apr) : Sounds like P Luke Elzinga has a rookie try out opportunity from the Titans
dfosterf (30-Apr) : Luke Elzinga Punter Oklahoma stil unsigned. Green Bay has been mentioned as good fit
beast (30-Apr) : The Packers re-signed three exclusive rights free agents WR Melton, P Whelan and RB Wilson.

    bboystyle (29-Apr) : Tom*
Martha Careful (28-Apr) : RIP Packer Safety Tim Brown
beast (27-Apr) : Yeah, but also some of the wording suggestions Jax only pranked called the QB, not the others... and if he had an open spreadsheet & 3 calls
beast (27-Apr) : Thank goodness he's not leaving the Turtle in the Red Tide
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : Cowboys 1st round pick Tyler Booker will indeed be bringing his pet turtle to Dallas with him
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : that contained all prospects info and contact
Mucky Tundra (27-Apr) : beast, according the Falcons statement Jax came across it on an ipad. If I had to guess, probably an open spread sheet or something
