Remember back in the day, when we had "cold fronts" this time of year? Well, I guess that isn't catchy enough any more.

Now, its a " POLAR VORTEX THAT WILL AFFECT MILLIONS. OMG WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE."

...Verdict still out, but looks like trouble for me in the Northeast, and I think I'm buying, based on what I have read on it. Of course, I'm the silly bastard worried about Iran, Putin, N Korea, China, ISIS and shit like that, so take it with a grain of salt. I am feeling the Siberian snow-pack thing, as a predictor.

I think a vortex by definition is spinning around - like a hurricane or something. Do they really mean something like that is coming down from the north? Plain old fronts didn't spin.

I read that The Weather Channel has higher ratings in the morning time slots than either CNN or MSNBC. Nifty sounding names like that must be the reason.

As I said before....back in the 1970's when I was in school, the teachers were constantly telling us "THE NEXT ICE AGE IS COMING!!!WE ARE ALL GOING TO FREEZE!!!"
Then a few years ago...."GLOBAL WARMING!!!WE ARE GOING TO FRY!!!"
I guess they are back to us freezing now!

Regardless if it's a vortex, front or damned cyclone, ahead of it it's been snowing for 3 days up here in the U.P. Another 4-8 inches is predicted tomorrow night followed by temperatures in the teens for the rest of the week.
We haven't seen a shitty November like this since the damned Edmund Fitzgerald sank.

72 degrees and sunny here in Texas today; 79 predicted for tomorrow. I don't miss those Wisconsin winters one bit.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
