For many years I worked on our nations Naval Ships. Cities have always been popular names for Naval Vessels. All 688 class fast attack submarines bear the names of cities. Some include Atlanta, Jacksonville, Baton Rouge, Los Angeles, and more. Aircraft Carriers now mostly bear the names of former Presidents. Battleships and Cruisers have the names of States. Naval heroes and respected military/civil heroes get their names on Destroyers and Frigates . Not all ship classes follow strict naming rules. A Submarine was named in honor of a former Submariner and US President, James Earl Carter.

The USS Green Bay will proudly serve our nation for decades to come. She will sail into harms way if needed , ready to get the job done. 👍
