GREEN BAY, Wis. -- No one had to tell the Green Bay Packers where their run defense was ranked after Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears.

"I'm aware what the numbers are," coach Mike McCarthy said Monday. "Nobody likes it."

The Packers' run defense went from bad (27th in the league) before Sunday to the worst.

After giving up 235 yards rushing -- the third-highest total since Dom Capers took over as defensive coordinator in 2009 -- the Packers found themselves dead last in the league, allowing an inexcusable 176.

Lest you thought the Bears were a rushing juggernaut, you should know this: Before Sunday, they ranked 32nd in the league in rushing yards per game.

Well, it doesn't get any uglier than that.
Or can it?

Dom is true to form. He comes in and makes adjustments and the team responds then little by little they fall flat over the next few years.

Dom builds defense based on creating chaos.. simply put, we lack players that can create chaos within the scheme; holding true to the scheme.

Clay is playing with his hair on fire, but is way to quick to give up the edge. Mark it down, if Bridgewater is healthy, they are going to expose that edge a couple times Thursday night.

Peppers is becoming a guy that can make plays and stay disciplined in the scheme. Daniels flashes but at times gets washed out on a combo block. HaHa is showing a nose to make a play in the secondary.. I think Hyde and HaHa would be the best combo back there. Lattimore made a downhill play Sunday.. something sorely lacking to date from our backers.

So there is hope, but I still think Pennel or Boyd better develop quickly at nose; because we are getting pounded inside. We need a true ass kicker in there.. I think the rest of the line actually has promise if we can hold the point with any consistency.

I would talk about the interior backers.. but without the front at least being competitive in combo blocks, it matters little.

It's clear Ted's not gonna bring anyone in.

Our LBs will look much better if we've got DL up front who can eat up blockers.

With the Packers Defence playing the run as they have been. It is, and will be no secret that, the Vikings will be running the football right through the middle of the Packers Defence. And they will keep running there until they are stopped. I'm not so sure that the Packers will be able to stop them. They will chew up the clock with long sustained drives and at the same time keep Rodgers and Co. off the field. All the booing from the stands will not inspire the Packers Defence to stop a running attack that was built to support Adrian Peterson. The Vikings O-line is going to push the Packers D-line around like they were college boys.

Now, I don't hear Uncle 🇹🇹 Teddy rushing to plug the hole in the Dam. Yet we praise him for his omnipotent skill in building this team. I have not come to praise TT, but to turn the spotlight on him. This team is in trouble and he just collects his paycheck ! While his mouthpiece,"Vic Ketchman" spews out the comforting propaganda. Coach McCarthy and his staff are caught in the middle ! They can only try to do the best with what have to work with.

There is a short poem that truly fits , and it goes like this:

We the willing
Lead by the unknowing
are doing the impossible
for the ungrateful
We have done so long
with so little
we are now qualified to do anything
with nothing.

It was so stupid to not practice the new defenses at all in preseason. Now we are changing personnel and schemes and whatnot on a weekly basis because Dom never bothered to figure out who fits where in the offseason. I haven't seen any breakdowns or anything by scheme but it seems like our 4-3 defensive sets where Clay plays SLB have been pretty good against the run. We seemed to play a lot more nickle against Chicago and it hurt against the run.

dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
