Good Lord people, he said Lacy needs to play better, then stopped himself from going any further. People are acting like Mike McCarthy drop kicked Lacy ' s dog too. For years people have bitched about how little fire Mike McCarthy has and when he has 1 miniscule slip up he becomes a coward for heaving players under the bus.

This play calling, Mike McCarthy sucks stuff is getting old. Like husker said, we can't know the intent of the play, blocking assignments, what Aaron Rodgers audibled to, or what have you.

All I read is "I saw a running back in the back field...I KNEW it was going to be a run, so predictable!" there's more to a play call than the 50 50 run v pass choice. Just because a play didn't work doesn't mean it was a bad play call. Young Rodgers got blown up on his block on the safety, call whatever you want, if a blocker gets dominated like that, it's a sack or TFL, pick your poison. Point being, execution trumps scheme.

I will say that I agree with whoever wrote about Lacy trying to act like Barry sanders. Look for your lane between the tackles and run north south.

For the last couple of years, this team has had the same MO...no fire...no passion, no edge. They continually start out slow. One that ARod is exhibiting perfectly. Relax...no worries...we'll be fine. Where's the freaking fire?! It's like watching my son's 5th grade football team.

I blame this on a organizational attitude. When is the last time you saw a Packer's game where you said, wow, they really took advantage of the other team's weakness. I don't think this coaching staff is willing to change. "Our scheme is fine, our players just need to execute." Well, what is the definition of insanity? Doing things over and over and expecting a different result.

atta boy MM,,,,,,nice job throwing your players under the bus,,,,,this will go over great in the locker romm...How about you getting your big head out of your ass and give the playcalling duties to the OC? Your are 2nd and 1 at the 5 yd line and you thrown the ball? You don't know how to call a play or two that will get you 1 yard? Why did you run off tackle in the endzone? Just because you were the HC when the Packers won the SB, you get a free pass? Sure hope you don't get anymore extensions.

Kinda feel like he's throwing Lacy under the bus.

Dude runs hard. He's not being set up to be successful. The Loins were clearly keying on him. Yet no misdirection, no screens. Everybody knows he's just a decoy, enabling Aaron to continue throwing deep.

NOTE: f*ck the Bears.

Who knows though. Starks might have a little more speed.

Remember this play in the Super Bowl, probably should have gone for another 30 yards, maybe a TD? Well since it didn't work.... BAD PLAY CALLING! FIRE MIKE MCCARTHY! THAT'S SO VANILLA!

For all of those crying bad play calling, do you know who messed up their blocking assignments? Are you considering whether the WRs executed their routes (e.g. Aaron Rodgers yelling at Davante), or if Eddie is seeing the cutback lanes developing? Now while analyzing if all 11 players effectively executed the intent of the called play, are you also factoring in what the defense is doing and what you need to call to exploit that while considering your personnel's limitations or strengths...or are we all just doing some in depth, ground-breaking James Jones analysis?

I can guarantee you that no NFL coordinator or coach is going into their meetings Monday saying "huh, that play didn't gain 15 yards. It's gotta be because we're too vanilla, time to add the triple reverse Statue of Liberty just because it's cool and anti-vanilla! Or wait, Seattle did a jet sweep and it looked pretty nifty. We don't have the personnel for it, and our opponent was in a defensive alignment to stop it, but it's new and has bells and whistles!"

That's it. 10 seconds of an 11 minute press conference. 10 seconds of probably 50-some hours that Mike will have a camera or microphone in front of his face during the course of the year. Thank God I don't have a camera in front of me that often, I'd say a hell of a lot more that I'd regret, a hell of a lot more often!

The fan base has been drooling for sound bites of him calling out players like Hawk and B.Jones, and in general trying to hold the team more accountable...but then when he does with a minor slip up for 10 seconds we cry bloody murder???

I can't understand why every time Starks made a couple of good plays he was pulled for Lacy. It is clear to me that Lacy is our starter and featured RB and that he is probably the best RB we have against most teams. But not against Detroit, we needed Starks here.

Mike McCarthy is a top echelon N.F.L. Head Coach.

There is no legit argument against that statement. His record, compared to his peers during his tenure is proof in the pudding.

However.. I feel. coach Mike has reached his personal zenith with this team. It happens with every coach, it happens with the best of the best.

I think M.M. has become complacent. Make me Ted, and I will call him into a "Come to Jesus Meeting" and tell Mike he has a deadline... I feel Ted is still in his prime. Hanging onto M.M. may be Ted's only weakness.

Ask yourself this simple Question. How long has M.M. been Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers?

Ask yourself this simple Question. What is the average tenure of a Head Coach in the NFL?

Ask yourself this simple Question. What has been the average tenure of a Head Coach for the Green Bay Packers?

There are a great deal of great coaches who would love to capitalize on leading this organization, and a truly great QB who is still in his prime next year in the greatest football market, in the world.

Move on.. But Give Mike a street name, and a huge hug on the way to the airport.

beast (3h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (3h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (13h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (13h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (15h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (16h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (17h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (17h) : Thank you
wpr (17h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (17h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (17h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (17h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (17h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (18h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (18h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (18h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (18h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (19h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
