On a side note I think Lacy has the Lions defense and TE Tom Crabtree took the Packers defense... and offense will be great next week as Brian Urlacher has the Bears defense against Rodgers in the fantasy league. So Rodgers will light them up!

I've had a chance to check on stats, watch highlight packages, and read through all the comments that players were saying after the game.

To me, it starting to seem like a big problem is the no-huddle McCarthy has implemented. McCarthy said after the Seahawks game that his goal, particularly with the no-huddle, was to not slow Aaron down. It's starting to look like one of the limits with the no-huddle McCarthy likes is the ability to be creative with packages, formations, and routes run.

What really caught me yesterday was Aaron saying that the route concepts needed to be adjusted. Route concepts go to scheming and planning; when have you ever heard Aaron publicly say the route concepts needed to be adjusted? Usually, it's been about better execution and (mental) preparation whenever the Packers offense doesn't click.

So, perhaps the Packers should reduce reliance on the no-huddle. Don't go away from it entirely, but adjust when to use it. I'm beginning to think the Packers don't have the elite talent (Jennings, Finley, Jones) that can consistently win one-on-one match-ups or get enough separation to give Aaron a window to throw that made it less glaring a need to have packages and formations that helped receivers get open. Alternatively, you give Aaron even more responsibility by increasing the options Aaron can call at the LOS such as bunch formation or bringing receivers in motion. Frankly, if one person is suited for greater responsibility on offense, it's Aaron (and that's saying something seeing as he already is responsible for a hell of a lot).

Edit -- I also found it interesting that Aaron's brother, Luke, posted on twitter a few hours after the game a tweet that spoke out about the Packers lack of creativity on offense. Maybe this was Luke posting after a conversation with Aaron, or maybe just another football fan posting his opinion. Regardless, it's interesting to see this criticism come from someone so close to Aaron.

We've been down this road before. We all know how stubborn MM can be. Start out slow, try to go for the homerun every play, Rodgers gets sacked several times per game, ignore the screen game/short passes..Then BOOM, we win 6 in a row. MM will eventually get around to making the right adjustments.

Also, it seems like every year, one or more of our young guys will step up and make a significant impact. In the past, Starks, Shields, Cobb, Peprah,
Nick Collins, Jordy, etc have been in this category.

Rodgers' inability to let go of feelings of being "sleighted" is well known. He's still trying to prove that he's better than the guy who had the job before him.

The QB was hurried and sacked all day and they couldn't run the ball at all. Of course I'm talking about the Lions.
Yet they won.
It's a game of big plays. They got the fumble recovery and the safety and Arod misses Jordy against a LINEBACKER on a slant he hits 9 out of ten times. Not a lot of big plays just two teams knocking each other around.
I kinda liked it other than the final score of course.

You know, if I were a 'Queens fan and wanting to have some fun at the expense of Packers fans, I'd join a Green Bay fan site (say around draft time/Apr) pretending to be a Packer fan.

And then when the season started I'd post an unrelenting series of posts/threads with titles such as "Packers Aren't Very Good", trashing the GM/coaches/players, etc.

You were right when earlier you said we were different types of fans.

Thing is, if you keep on NOT doing what is right, or in this case, keep on shitting yourself or "not winning," as Coach Lombardi woul say, sooner or later it catches up with you.

That is why we do what is right, ALL THE TIME. That is why "winning," is not a "some of the time" thing. Maybe Mike and Aaron have a different philosophy.

Well, McCarthy is now on record as of today stating that this has nothing to do with a scheme issue and everything to do with fundamentals. While I don't disagree that the fundamentals play a big part in this worthless performance from yesterday, I do disagree that it has nothing to do with scheme. What do I know though...I am just a fan of the game.

McCarthy: "I'm not up here to talk about scheme. ...Scheme is not a crutch. The fundamentals were not good enough."

But tell me if I've got it straight:

-A-Rod feels like he's still in Favre's shadow

-Rodgers makes conscious decision that in order to stand on his own as a great player, he'll need to go for big stats.

-On the basis of said decision, Rodgers intentionally blows off short-range, high-percentage throws and only goes for big plays downfield.
