The good news is that there are still 13 games left in the season. The bad news is that the Packers will need to improve A LOT in order for...

The Bears usually bring out the best in the Packers and the worst in Cutler. We're going to need that trend to continue. As Michael noted, 1-3 is a hole this team ain't digging out of...not sure they're digging out of 1-2.

I'm not sure what you mean to imply by "disinterested". I mean, the fact that Rodgers has been open to chewing out rookies after their mistakes (like Adams after he ran the wrong route) are pretty good examples of Rodgers being anything but "disinterested".

Rodgers deserves his share of the blame for his woes this season. Maybe something more serious is wrong with A-Rod, but the last thing I'm sure Rodgers has a problem with is his interest in the game.

As for the reasons why, I can give you four things that contribute much more to Rodgers' play recently than his interest level: 1.) Very bad offensive line play, 2.) receivers not getting enough separation, 3.) Running backs making poor decisions, and 4.) play calling. How many quarterbacks truly would play good behind this offensive line and lack of running game? I mean honestly? I'm not excusing Rodgers by any means. The guy sucked and he needs to play better. But so does everyone else on offense.

So, the way Michael Rodney says exactly what I said makes what he said okay and the way I said it not okay? Michael Rodney is not constantly badgered by homers. His site is frequented by very knowledgeable and objective fans. That doesn't mean they all are, but the majority are those who aren't just rah rah types.

Do you see passion in Aaron Rodgers play? I watched Russell Wilson take the ball in his own hands late in the 4th and run, making several key plays on sheer desire. There is no reluctance in Russell Wilson to do what needs to be done to win. He is completely sold out to it and it shows in his play. I haven't seen much of that from Rodgers... I did see it vs. the Jets...the Barry Sanders-esque run comes to mind.

Chewing out rookies is pretty classless if you ask me. That doesn't indicate passion for the game, it indicates the desire to let the world know he didn't make the mistake someone else did. I like sideline fire, but public chiding when you know for sure the camera is on you is unbecoming of a leader.

Our team is not very good so when our superstar QB plays average our team looks really inept. He knows he has to play better. He made many references to lack of adjustments in his presser. He's clearly upset with someone on the coaching staff. Most likely MM. That frustration can lead to disinterest.

Again, I must ask...why are we terrible? If Mike McCarthy is saying he never felt so positive coming into a season why are we 1-2 and not looking good in any of our 1st three games? There is a reason for that. It isn't just nothing. Are we disinterested? Are we just not that good? Or...both?

This is the 3rd straight year we start 1-2. That's a trend...a disturbing trend just like one and done. Where is the fix coming from? OL...not good enough. Rodgers not very good this year. No TE to speak of. D looked very good.

The season rides next Sunday in Chicago. Will we answer the bell? That is a mystery.

1. Rodgers had 5 underthrown balls today, based on ESPN Stats. This after he had 6 last week, the most of his career.

2. He's made very un-Rodgers like plays lately. For one, Rodgers seems allergic to RB checkdowns thus far. For a QB who prides himself on taking care of the ball, taking checkdowns and giving the RBs a chance to do something would make sense. Especially given Cover-2, having the RBs get to the second level might open more things up.

3. Rodgers has had a tendency to hold the ball too long in the past. But this season, he seems to being that more. Maybe it's a combination of not taking checkdowns and receivers just not getting open like they did in the past, but Rodgers seems more inclined to pull the ball down and try to escape the pocket when the pocket seems to be collapsing. Of course, there is also the 7-second sack he took last week as well -- a very uncharacteristic play for Rodgers. Rodgers seems averse to taking taking whatever he can get (including throwing the ball away) and trying again the next snap.

Elite QBs are entitled to have bad games. I don't doubt Rodgers has the ability and drive to get his play on track to what we expect of him, but I cannot recall his play being this sub-par for this prolonged a period of time. That is what is odd about Rodgers thus far; his presence doesn't feel quite the same as it has in years past.

You said he's unmotivated, citing an offseason contract extension and some yammering about complacency post Super Bowl and MVP and State Farm commercials. So it's disingenuous to decry that you and Rodney are saying the same thing.

"Constantly badgered by homers" -- wow, you're a piece of work.

Tom Brady chews out his guys. So does Manning. Those guys must be demonstrating poor leadership as well.

As per Rodgers' "obvious" frustration with the coaches, it should be again noted that Mike McCarthy relinquished a lot of play-calling duties to A-Rod in the second half. So if he was disappointed in adjustments, that should fall upon himself and his teammates.

I see posters running around pointing that the sky is falling. Looking in every wrong direction for the wrong answers. The right answer was plain to those that watched the Detroit game. Our O and D-lines were taken to school. ALL, I repeat ALL other positions begin and end with the line play. On Offense the running attack hinges upon the O-line play as does the passing game. On defence, stopping the run begins with the D-line as does the pass rush. Yes, there are plays pointed out where there was a sack or a great catch was made, but they are great individual efforts, not part of the problem. Too much focus is placed on the "star" positions, I say examine the foundation before you buy the house.

beast (6h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (10h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (12h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (22h) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (22h) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (22h) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
