This article sums it up

The Green Bay Packers avoided Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman on Thursday, but the team’s skittishness wasn’t only the passing game. Playing scared took many forms.

I bitches when FAvre threw INTs against Deion like EVERY single time they played, so I guess I shouldn't bitch too much in this situation. Then again at least Favre didn't punk out like a bitch.

I believe Aaron is gonna bounce back and pull his head out of his ass, but games like this only add fodder to Skip Bayless and other naysayers. Where's that chip Aaron?

i dont know if scared is the proper term i think they tried to show too much respect and should kept to there gameplan not a gameplan that was dictated by the other team !!

If the idea is the coaches "playing scared", yeah, I could see that in a lot of ways - PLAY CALLING - as I started a whole thread about - was fucked up in a variety of ways. I wouldn't fault them for game planning away from Sherman, but when the Safety(s) started seeing it and cheating the other way, it was time for some brains and/or balls challenging Sherman. What I fault them for a lot MORE, though, was the hyper-cautious run first concept - which it took Seattle about one series to catch on to and stop, and the failure to go with deeper drops and down-the-field pass patterns - the Packers bread and butter. People complain that Rodgers was "scared" - hell no to that. The coaches - McCarthy or whoever was calling the plays - should have called plays knowing and expecting Rodgers to avoid the pass rush - as he has been doing pretty much as long as he has been starting. I watched Peyton Manning play last night; Damn how great it would be if OUR O Line gave Rodgers time like that, but it doesn't happen, not even against teams a whole lot weaker than Seattle.

If he made a better throw, he still probably would have gotten a first down and gained more yardage (with a possibility of even more yards after the catch). As almost always the case, I don't necessary disagree with the decision, it was just poor execution.

Either way, ultimately it was a mistake, which is all that really matters. These things happen. But I do absolutely agree that Aaron Rodgers didn't play good enough to win. I was stating such during the game. He needs more help against top opponents.
