Third game normally has the most time with starters correct?

Offense:
- Saw some issues with the O-line with holding calls and lack of pass protection. Maybe my expectations were too high after the Rams game.
- Rodgers looked a bit out of synch.
- Lacy played great for the 1 minute I saw him.
- Thought Harris played better than Starks although I loved the 2 point conversion by Starks.

Defense:
- Thought the secondary could have played better in the first half. Missed opportunities and penalties.
- 1st TD by the raiders made me nervous of past year mistakes, lots of bodies flying around near the RB but no one made the tackle.

Currently watching the second half . . .

My initial thoughts watching the game was that the coaching staff seemed more playful with plays than I was expecting. It was still vanilla but there were a lot more calls that left me confused after the first drive like they were just doing the "seeing what happens" thing. I was curious how that fit into the "hitting of targets" coach keeps talking about.

In any case Lacy was great and was taken out after the first drive. The number 1 offense still looks good, but not as good as they did in St. Louis. Boyd and Elliot stood out on defense. Datone Jones was active and seemed to be around the ball a lot in run defense. That's a good sign. Tolzien closed the gap in the QB race. House was more up than down finally. Are things finally clicking for him? Raji looked a little rough early on and then got injured which turned out to be season ending. A tough 24 hours for him for sure.

EDIT! I forgot about Peppers. He was awesome =d>

My quick thoughts:

-We didn't draft enough dynamic playmakers with elite top-end speed. Guns don't kill people. Bullets don't kill people. Speed kills people.

-Ted Thompson has ruined this team with his first-round misses on defensive players. Just look at our last five drafts -- you'll see we drafted guys like Nick Perry and Datone Jones and Ha Ha Clinton Dix. No Pro Bowls from any of those guys. First round is where you get Hall of Famers. None of those guys are in the Hall of Fame. Thanks a lot, Ted Thompson, you goddamn Holocaust denying sonuvabitch.

-Ted Thompson has ruined this team by drafting Bryan Bulaga and Derek Sherrod. Those guys don't even play defense. And neither one is an elite, mother-beating talent like Dez Bryant. Why do you hate America, uncle Ted?

-Just my opinion, but I just think we are wasting the prime years of Aaron Rodgers. I mean, we go out and get Eddie Lacy and that fat fuck doesn't have top-end, playmaking speed. We should have drafted Dez Bryant or something. Or Giovanni Bernard -- that dude is fast as shit.

-I'm glad to see Jeff Janis out there. Think of everything he's overcome as a white receiver? I'm going to have him autograph my copy of Mein Kampf. His eyes are dreamy, his thighs are creamy.

-That reminds me -- have I told you guys how pedestrian a player Davante Adams is? He's not even fast. I hate that bastard almost as much as I hate Jarrett Boykin.

That's all I have to say for now. I'm going to go hammer some more nails into my scrotum and work on my Ted Thompson voodoo doll.

*edit: Left out a word
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I rewatched the first couple series and had two additional notes.

Randall Cobb did not have his best game. I wonder what was going on? He also made a poor decision fielding a punt which cost the team field position.

Raji to Boyd was seemless. Boyd played as well if not a little better than Raji in the snaps I watched. The MJD run Raji allowed himself to get turned around. His back was to the play when MJD raced by. Not saying he could have stopped it as there were other guys on that side out of position but it didn't help. Boyd looked like he was physically matching up well each play.

Hawk was being held on the play. But yes there were multiple people out of position as I mentioned so I agree.

Martha Careful (1h) : I don't see it happening but I would sure love to see Houston pull the upset here
Mucky Tundra (2h) : *rebuffed
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Bears coaching search in trouble? Bears reached out to the Steelers about trading for Mike Tomlin and rebuffes per Schefter

beast (3h) : More consistent with their time and rest between games.
beast (3h) : I think all the AFC games should be on Saturday and all the NFC should be on Sunday (maybe reverse the order every year), to more consistent
Martha Careful (4h) : Don't you think teams with the byes should play Sunday? It is fairer to opponents to give an additional day. instead of short week.

Zero2Cool (17-Jan) : It'd be a wise move.
