Jones has really come into his own at DE this pre-season. That position in a 3-4 defense rarely jumps out at you unless they are doing something wrong. Jones has been solid and I hope to see that continue with an injury free year with him and Daniels. Remember that we will probably not see as much base 3-4 this year as we have in prior years.

Raji wasn't just terrible last year. He was terrible last night before going out. I did not see Boyd looking bad, last night, and everything I've seen of him in other games makes me confident he will do well at NT - in rotation with Pennell. You don't realize how bad Raji was until you see these other guys come in and play head and shoulders better in the same spot. A big HELL NO to Pickett also. I would say the injury to Raji allows the Packers to keep and develop Thornton - who may ultimately be decent, even though he hasn't shown much so far.

Boyd is a fine young player but he's no more a NT as Raji was a DE. Square pegs...round holes...the Packers defensive way.

I think our DL will be a mess all year and especially when it gets toward the end of the season. We're weak through the entire middle of our D. No NT...no good ILB's...no stud safety, or even a good one. Our middle has been soft as Charmin toilet paper for years... and it'll be softer this year despite the potential strength of the outside of it.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Jones was doing what he is supposed to do. You don't get a lot of glamour plays in base at DE.

I've been ranting about the Packers oughta go to a smaller more mobile better tackling D Line all off-season. They're doing it; They'll be better because of it; And getting Raji out of there - even by injury - just completes what was started by getting rid of Pickett.

Do I feel sorry for Raji? Of course - about as much as it's possible to feel sorry for somebody who will get to sit on his fat ass and still collect $4 million.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
