You're willing to chastise Brett Favre for things that you don't know if they happened to previous players? You're okay with that bias? What I'm getting at is, other players certainly did far worse and went under the radar due to pre-Twitter, pre-Facebook, pre-Social Media and certainly pre-Internet.

Imagine the stories about say Babe Ruth, or Paul Hornung if in today's world. Would you and do you hold them equally accountable?

His behavior is only half of it. I don't think Favre was good enough or important enough.

That is also a weak argument. I don't know what they did, so in case they did sabotaged their teams, walk out on them 3 times and tried to force them over the salary cap and roster limit, we should give Favre a pass.

My oldest kid might have gotten away with sneaking out with the car when he was 15, so I should just tell my youngest that it is OK for him to do it? Even though I have no reason to think he actually did.

Here is my take on the whole thing. I was never that big of a Favre fan even when he was on the Packers. He made a lot of spectacular plays but he made a lot of bonehead plays as well. I was glad we had him as I think his good outweighed his bad but I never really bought into the whole aw shucks good old boy routine. Even at his peak when he was getting so much praise for being the Packers I kind of had a feeling that eventually the whole thing would crumble. That's why when he left it didn't bother me at all. He was no longer a Packer so I no longer cared about him. I didn't watch a single Jets game when he was the QB and the only vikings games I watched was when they played the Packers. He was just another player on another team to me and the only thing I cared about was how his performance affected the Packers.

Having said all that I do understand what he meant to the franchise. He may not have been the reason for the turnaround but he was the face of the turnaround and he will get a lions share of the credit and I am fine with that. In fact the more I hear people still pissing and moaning about him the more I like the guy. I used to collect Packers cards pretty heavily and I got any and all I could, Favre included, but now pretty much the only guy I actively seek out is Favre. I just think is weird that some people still hold that much of a grudge against him.

I have two favorite memories of Favre. The Raider game after his father passed away and the fact that I was at his very first start at Lambeau Field against the Steelers and I was at his very last start at Lambeau Field when the vikings visited the Packers.

If for some reason I happen to be at the game where the number retirement takes place I will cheer as my guess is 95% of the Packers fans will. The other 5%, to paraphrase nerdman in a previous post, "fuck them"

Without trying to make this political, That is what is wrong these days. Way to much time is spent worry about the 5%. Who cares anyway? Did Braun get some boos when he came back? Sure he did. Did it die out after the people had a chance to express themselves? Yep. Did the world come to an end? Nope.

Some will cheer. Some will boo. It changes nothing. Let's move on.

If it is Brett that is waiting until everyone loves him again he will have a long wait.

The sabotage deal was broken by Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Several sources have told FOX Sports that Favre earlier this year phoned the Detroit Lions prior to their battle versus Favre's old team, the Green Bay Packers, and gave them a rundown of the nuances of what Green Bay does on offense. According to the sources, Favre actually spent over an hour on the phone with Lions coaches, who were connected with Favre by then-team president Matt Millen. Favre has allegedly done this with a number of teams.

My guess is that since he was talking with the Vikings at the time, by their own admission. They would beon of the "other teams". It isn't much of a stretch to say the Bears were offered a peak at the playbook also. But they probably turned him down.

Confirmed by Mike Florio and Jason Wilde. Reprinted by many news outlets.

If he went out of his way to make the contact to try and give other teams pointers on the Packers, sure that's a dick move, but not sabotage. Teams acquire players all the time for the purpose of acquiring intel on their previous team. If you're not smart enough to tweak things, then that's on you.

Kind of switching directions here, I wonder how Reggie White plays into this. I believe the Packers regretted not retiring his number earlier than they did.

I would rather numbers be taken out of circulation for X amount of years than them being disallowed forever. I grew up being a big Dale Earnhardt fan and when they announce his number would be used again, a big part of me was glad. It sparked a lot of memories and what not about Dale. Otherwise if the number had been abolished, then it's going to go into the abyss of out of sight, out of mind.

Zero2Cool (31m) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (20h) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
