I'll go out on a limb and say Sherrod beats out Bakhtiari.

I know, I'm radical.

I like the projection as written. I hope Nerd is right about Sherrod, but that's a long shot.

My random guess of Green Bay Packers Projected 2014 Starters, at least for the start of the season.

Offense
QB Aaron Rodgers
RB Eddie Lacy
WR1 Jordy Nelson
WR2 Randall Cobb
WR3 Jarrett Boykin / Davante Adams
TE Andrew Quarless / Brandon Bostick
LT David Bakhtiari
LG Josh Sitton
C JC Tretter
RG T.J. Lang
RT Bryan Bulaga

Defense
DE Mike Neal
NT B.J. Raji
DE Mike Daniels
OLB Clay Matthews
ILB A.J. Hawk
OLB Nick Perry / Julius Peppers
CB1 Sam Shields
CB2 Tramon Williams
CB3 Casey Hayward / Micah Hyde
SS Micah Hyde / Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
FS Morgan Burnett

~ TE: Mike McCarthy called Brandon Bostick the Packers best blocking TE over the offseason, and he moves extremely well for a TE (he was a college WR) and Packers seeming to be bringing in more of the TE/WR combos, so I think they're moving that way. I thought about making him the sole starter but he also showed problems with what seemed to be alligator arms / drops when he had to go over the middle or they got in the red zone so I felt like Quarless should be left up there still.

~ DE: From the way Mike McCarthy has talked about Mike Neal it sounds like they want him as a DL first and OLB second (and Peppers as an OLB first and DL second)... also with what sounds like a new aggressive one gap system, that would favor Daniels, Neal and Jones. But Neal is a bit more physical than Jones, and they still have to stop the run on the way to the QB, so I'm thinking Neal first, Jones as the pass rush specialist on 3rd down and anything and long.

~ OLB: Perry flashed a TON of potential when playing ROLB... the problem... they barely played him there and had him playing LOLB a lot. I think they need to see what Perry can do from ROLB, Matthews has already shown he can play from both side. I think we'll see Perry and Peppers rotate and maybe some of both of them with Matthews getting a breather on the sideline and/or maybe Matthews rushing up the middle from ILB?

~ CB: Coverage wise Hayward was better, but overall being a complete player (ie, being physical, tackling in the run game, blitzing, etc) Hyde might of been just as good or better and more of a threat to blitz off that edge and get into the backfield and make a tackle. Having Hyde at the slot gives the play caller a lot more options.

~ FS: Based on the past, Packers always seem to put a vet/guy they trust most at FS until the other person proves themselves. I'm sure once they become comfortable they have the FS and SS switching up some trying to confuse the offenses.

~ SS: Mike McCarthy said they wanted to get Hyde on the field more, anyway they can. It sounded like that meant Hyde to S at least before they drafted Ha Ha. Also I've heard the NFL is moving more and more towards 3 Safety nickel packages and teaching Hyde safety, he could line up and be either and make it harder on offenses. (and Capers ran a 3 Safety package defense while he was head coach with the Texans). And that would mean in case of an injury Hyde could hopefully back-up all the DB spots, or start at them if say a rookie is adjusting to the NFL.

beast (4m) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (5m) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (6m) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (3h) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (4h) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (4h) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (6h) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (6h) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (6h) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (9h) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (10h) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

beast (18h) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (20h) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh

    TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : pass plays
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Seems some of their passes are too deep. Reminds me of MLF as well.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oren Burks with a clutch pass break up...I will now light myself on fire
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : a run on 2nd down and 17 from McVay? So that's where MLF gets it from!
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Do or die time for the Rams
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking field goals are impressive
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oh that might be a backbreaker
    Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : That's what I thought too, just wasn't sure
