Not at all... I have high hopes for Abbrederis, Janis, Hubbard, LaDarius Perkins, Joe Thomas, etc... I think hearing Davante Adams will be better than Sterling Sharpe threw a switch in me. I would love for Davante Adams to be a special player for us. Again, I'm just disappointed he is the guy we took in Round 2, when I was hopeful for a couple of other guys we could've had.

All kidding aside, how will we be able to really compare the Sharpe thing? He instantly became the #1 WR as a rookie with a lineup of Robert Brooks, Anthony Morgan, Ron Lewis, Ed West and Mark Chmura as targets for Favre. Finished the season with 94 receptions for 1119 yds and 18 TDs.
Davante Adams will have a tough time cracking those numbers with Nelson, Cobb, and Boykin in front of him to start the season...
Is it even possible Adams could get those targets to haul down 94 passes? 18 TDs? Greg Jennings hauled in 45 for 632 and 3 in his rookie season. Jordy Nelson grabbed 33 for 366 and 2 in his rookie year.
I really wonder how this is going to shake out. It should be VERY interesting to see. If Adams has a solid TC, I could see him jumping into our #2 or #3 WR role. Maybe he becomes the hot hand. Should something like that happen, which I think would be extraordinary, then I would put money down on him having a shot, a real shot at Sterling's rookie numbers. So much would have to go right for him though... as Sharpe's rookie numbers are insanely good.
There is no need to compare Adams to Sharpe, but it is kind of fun to think about. The only way he could have a chance at those kinds of numbers is for him to become a starter and develop an uncanny, spectacular relationship with Aaron Rodgers as a go-to guy.
Have to figure too that concepts Mike Holmgren brought to us in GB at the time (1994) were somewhat revolutionary in the NFC's Black & Blue. Offenses and defenses alike have become far more sophisticated since.
