I agree with this. If the Packers can stay relatively healthy, they can go toe-to-toe with any team in the league. But they need to stay somewhat healthy. They can only afford to loose so many key players before the talent gap becomes too much to overcome.

The Vikings? Rebuilding? That can't be. That would imply they had ever built something.

Thinking the Packers are rebuilding just sounds like a spoiled fan. This team hasn't had to legitimately rebuild in over 20 years. A couple down seasons here and there yeah but it certainly doesn't suck to have an actual relevant team for the most part of over two decades.

It's tough to beat the Seahawks in Seattle... so don't let them get the top seed!

They didn't go into a huge slump record wise and I give all involved kudo's for that. The roster, however, went through a major transformation.

By '05 the team was no where near the strong teams they fielded in '01 and '02 and the '07 team that went 13-3 was a WAY different team personnel wise then it was in '05.

Just because they didn't go through a prolonged slump in the win/loss column doesn't mean they were not faced with a rebuild.

I am going to disagree with the 49ers having the Packers number.

The games have been close.

The last one at Lambeau was a dropped INT from a win in spite of having Shields, Hayward, Matthews, Jolly and Neal on the bench.

Clay wouldn't have let Kaepernick get the corner like a hobbled Andy Mulumba. Hayward probably hangs on to the pick, Jolly slows down their run game etc.

I would take a healthy Packers over a healthy 49ers.

It is very true what you just said but I have the feeling that whatever the status our team is Harbaugh will have a plan while MM will not.
You decide who you put to avoid Kap from getting the corner. If he can't then the coaches also failed. The players don't decide their assignments.

His biggest issue though, is the repeated and consistent LULLS. Mike is a good Catholic boy. So his character structure is inhibited. Thus as head coach, he imprints that onto this team.

Lombardi was more of an Italian Catholic than a Polish Catholic. He had some daimos.

beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
