I love the yearly will he or wont he regarding Bush. Hey... he was pretty helpful in the Super Bowl guys. Hate to say it but he may be one of the most valuable players on this team from a depth standpoint. *hides in corner*

uffda, I think we have to keep Jarrett Bush around. He is just too good on STs. And, Goode has maintained a solid spot as a specialist for years, but if Linsley can do that job, he could make Goode expendable and save us an important roster spot. It would go against their normal mindset for specialists, but maybe that actually happens this year.

I don't think they're going to do that. If Tretter wins the center job, then Linsley as a backup and long snapper makes more sense. Goode offers NOTHING anywhere else but snapping so it would be nice to free up his spot.

As for Bush, he is my least favorite Packer. I'd rather watch the ball roll into the endzone punt after punt than to have him on the roster for fear of him having to play in the secondary. So hopeful that Goodson, or ANYONE, can finally displace this guy. No need to be spending what we're spending on Bush. Find a rook and set Jarrett free.

The problem with getting rid of Goode is the guy has had a ton of snaps and has been money every time. You can't just take that for granted. The dude has been perfect his whole career.

To me, I think Tretter wins the starting C spot this year. He just has too much of a lead on Linsley, in terms of knowledge of the system and training for a full season at the pro level. I believe he will be ready. More NFL ready than Linsley.

So, if we can save a roster spot if Linsley proves capable of doing the job effectively and consistently, then why not? Train another OL to be the backup LS. Linsley is touted as being a very good long snapper. Great. I know Goode is, but that is literally all he does.

Now, let's say Linsley wins that starter spot. I would still train another to be a backup LS and consider letting Goode roll on, if Linsley is that good.

I read a scout's view of Linsley on, I believe, nationalfootballpost.com... he thinks Linsley will win starting job as he's a natural center...that is not Tretter's natural spot. If Sherrod could play LT, Bakhtiari would be a good option at C... that is what some scouts thought his best NFL position might be. We know Sitton, Lang, Bulaga and Bakhtiari are going to be on that line, somewhere. Who is the 5th member?

BTW, way OT, but I wonder when the last time this has happened? We have all white guys on the OL. We have a white TE in Taylor and white WR's in Nelson, Abbrederis and Janis with Rodgers at QB. Kuhn is a white RB. I wonder when the last time an entire offense ran a play in a NFL game with nothing but white dudes lining up?

I, for one, would like to see the end of Jarrett Bush...he's been hanging on for years now. We can't seem to find a guy to replace him and that's really hard to believe to me.

Bush offers nothing on defense. I have a sinking feeling every single time I see him trot out there in our secondary. A big play for the offense is almost sure to happen wherever he goes. How he made such a big play in the SuperBowl is still mindboggling to me.

If Goodson can play ST reasonably well, I don't see how Bush sticks this time around.

The idea of getting rid of Goode is great, in theory, as who wants to use a roster spot on that? However, he's been so automatic over the years, that is something Linsley better be perfect at or Goode will stick around again. One bad snap in pre-season, by Linsley, and I don't think Ted Thompson will be comfortable moving on from Goode.

Greg Gabriel at National Football Post thinks Linsley will be our starting center. That'll be a big story in camp about who gets to snap the ball to Aaron and will Rodgers like his butt height and sweat? 😆

You forget how he broke up the 3rd down pass to Gonzales, forcing the Falcons to punt, them intercepted Matt Ryan the next series to seal the victory?

Said this before, but not sure if you were around then, if every player worked as hard as Jarret Bush does to perfect his craft, The Packers as a team would be a whole lot better.

Bush is the 1st at practice and the last to leave, he stays and works until they throw him out.

You seemed to be stuck in the past, as others, because Jarret Bush was pretty bad when he first came to The Packers, but he didn't stop working and turned himself into one of the best ST players in the league and as I stated before, he is now pretty good when playing in nickel and dime situations.

But hey, you have all the answers, so let's hope Bush gets cut, just a warning, be careful what you ask for. It just might come true.

I don't have all the answers...just opinions, like yourself.

Perhaps, you've forgotten the Packers anointing Bush the starter in training camp for the 2012 season based on what you typed above. The Packers wanted to reward his hard work and dedication by giving him first shot in 2012. Guess what Bush did with his vote of confidence and shot to be a starter? NOTHING. After playing horribly vs. SF, in a bad home opening loss, Bush rode the bench for the rest of the season. So, he got his start for his hard work, but he just didn't have the goods to be a starting NFL CB.

It's great he can run down and down a punt every once in a blue moon. The day he gets waived will be a happy day for me, not that I'll be glad to see a man lose his job, but that he'll no longer have any ability to affect our D negatively. I admire his work ethic and dedication to being a great ST's guy. I just think we can do better than Jarrett Bush.

Thankfully Ted doesn't think like you, hard working, talented veterans are needed to keep the Packers relevant.
You will get your wish next year, if not this year.

The Packers will not be a better team when Jarret Bush leaves.

There will be a real leadership void to fill when it comes to Special Teams.
