I'm not laughing... I was trying to connect with you not tick you off. I would've used the laughing icon if I meant to indicate I was laughing. I was hoping to get you to respond to his situation as you did Collins.

If the Packers don't clear him, I gotta believe just like with Nick Collins, nobody is going to clear him. The fact Mike McCarthy has talked about wanting him back from the get go and not sounding like it's over, makes me think there's a real chance he gets cleared. I don't recall him being this out front on Nick's situation. That seemed and sounded dire from the beginning and it ended up that way.

Remember when Neal hurt his knee? Went down in a heap in a non contact drill. OH IT'S NOTHING. HE'S DAY TO DAY. lol Pretty much missed the entire year.

Atari Bigby broke his ankle and never made the injury report. At least that's how it appears. We still don't know what happened with that.

After the Packers drafted tight end Richard Rodgers in the third round, General Manager Ted Thompson said that the move did not shut the door on the possibility that tight end Jermichael Finley could return to the team before the start of the season. Finley remains a free agent as he waits for medical clearance...

“In my mind he is a Green Bay Packer — hopefully,” McCarthy said on SiriusXM Radio with Rich Gannon, via ESPN Wisconsin. “[Finley] is going through a tough medical situation. I think we all recognize that it was a serious injury. My understanding is he is doing everything and beyond to get himself ready. We’ll continue to watch that.”

But if he does get hurt, they'll lie about it, guaranteed.

I remember with the Nick Collins situation, he talked about it as well he said something to the affect of "If he was my kid, I wouldn't let him play", and "its a decision he and his family will have to make", which sounded grim at the time and turned out to be accurate (I may be totally wrong about the quotes but this is what I remember).

The fact that he is speaking in such a way about Finley seems more optimistic, but I won't hold my breath.

Maybe its time to stop thinking and expecting Jermichael Finley to snare 100 cathces, rack up 1,400 yards and score 25 TD's ... just maybe!

The guy is a force to be reckoned with. He has size he has speed and he can break tackles. His mere presence opens up options for other weapons on the offense.

When reading these numbers, keep in mind the Packers had one helluva trio of WR to spread the ball around with as well. Therefore, not every ball can be thrown to Finley.

2012
Receptions: 61 (most by Packers TE)
Yards: 667
TD: 2
Ave: 10.9

2011
Receptions: 55
Yards: 767 (3rd most by Packers TE)
TD: 8 (5th most by Packers TE)
Ave: 13.9

All this yapping about "potential" unreached is BSquat! Can he improve more? Of course he can. Hell, even A.J. Hawk excelled after we ALL assumed he had flatlined his potential seasons ago.

Finley's problem is health. You listen to his coaches, to his teammates and they ALL rave about his ethic and how good of a team player he is. We fans, myself included, have ignorantly abused Finley as our whipping boy and let me tell you ... if Finley is the best whipping boy we can find, then we should be pretty damn happy.

I'm stepping down from my soap box to ask you a question. What do you want out of Jermichael Finley that will make you say "Ok, that boy has reached his potential"?

Pluses and minuses, also factoring in the reps lost by his potential replacement, I stand by Finley can hit the trail.

Remember, we had to pay Aaron Rodgers. Then there was Clay. That leaves all the schleppers fighting for the rest.
