Maybe its time to stop thinking and expecting Jermichael Finley to snare 100 cathces, rack up 1,400 yards and score 25 TD's ... just maybe!
The guy is a force to be reckoned with. He has size he has speed and he can break tackles. His mere presence opens up options for other weapons on the offense.
When reading these numbers, keep in mind the Packers had one helluva trio of WR to spread the ball around with as well. Therefore, not every ball can be thrown to Finley.
2012
Receptions: 61 (most by Packers TE)
Yards: 667
TD: 2
Ave: 10.9
2011
Receptions: 55
Yards: 767 (3rd most by Packers TE)
TD: 8 (5th most by Packers TE)
Ave: 13.9
All this yapping about "potential" unreached is BSquat! Can he improve more? Of course he can. Hell, even A.J. Hawk excelled after we ALL assumed he had flatlined his potential seasons ago.
Finley's problem is health. You listen to his coaches, to his teammates and they ALL rave about his ethic and how good of a team player he is. We fans, myself included, have ignorantly abused Finley as our whipping boy and let me tell you ... if Finley is the best whipping boy we can find, then we should be pretty damn happy.
I'm stepping down from my soap box to ask you a question. What do you want out of Jermichael Finley that will make you say "Ok, that boy has reached his potential"?
