Well it finally got here. Having the raft begin on Thursday is so lame. NFL Inc. and ESPN have kind of ruined the draft day experience.

Anyone have any special plans for he draft? more than likely I will sit in the bedroom with the tv flipping between ESPN and NFL channel. My computer sitting here on PackersHome.com.

I have not made a run to the store yet but will probably get some snacks. Today does not look to be a big day as I expect Uncle Teddy to trade down. Although with 4 picks in the first 3 rounds perhaps he is satisfied already.

Tomorrow is going to be a better draft day. Will probably get a pizza and move to the living room tv. (I will be home alone as my wife heads into see her mother for a few days and they get together with my daughter for wedding plans. I guess the draft did come at the perfect time for me.)

Saturday tends to be a blur with all the moves coming so quickly. It will be harder to find info on the 250th best player on the board. Once again it is nice to have a source like PackersHome.com to find out exactly who GB picked up.

One of these years I will have to make the trip to Mecca and sit in Curly's pub on Draft Days. Better still let's all show up at Zero's house unannounced next year. That gives him a years time to pay the stupid cable bill so he can have real tv on that 150 inch screen of his.

I'll probably just sit like a lump at my computer with the tv on while chatting here. Sit and wait 2 hours for Ted to trade out of the first and make us wait for another 24 hours.

But rejoice! It's here! I'm so excited, I just can't hide it! [happy] [happy] [happy] [happy] [happy]

Dudes, my wife is a huge fan. She's throwing down a great dinner like it is game day, and we will watch the whole thing... its a party! I am one lucky SOB. This should be a lot of fun, especially if Ted can work some magic, either way, trading up or down or holding his ground. We will be a better team after this weekend. Of that I am sure.

Keiana has a concert tonight and needs to be there at 5:20pm. Then it lasts until about 8pm or so. After that, I'll come home and go to bed banking on the great PackersHome members to bring all the information here.

In case I haven't whined about it already. I hate this draft setup. Absolutely hate it. I miss DRAFT WEEKEND. That was gorgeous. That was excellent.

Back when I was in school full time I would completely blow off any paper or homework for the whole weekend. It just dawned on me how convenient moving it back would be to me now. C'est la vie.

Team A trades 21st overall with 5 minutes left.
Team B must submit their selection before that 5 minutes expires.

The time left is related to the pick, not the team.

Was it always like that? I coulda swore there was one or two times it reset. Then again I might be misremembering things because of the marathon nature of the 1st round back in the day.

Somewhere down the line the NFL will realize they can extend the draft to 10 rounds and make it a full 4 day long event, or a week long event... it is only a matter of time. Advertising dollars will drive the decision.

The draft weekend was way better.
