Just saw on the ESPN ticker that the Rams are expected to interview Winston Moss next week for the head coaching position.

Discuss.

I hope he gets a fair shot at the interview (yes, I mean I hope he's not just being trotted in to satisfy the "Rooney Rule"), and I hope he gets the job. Good on him.

Personally I hope they hire him on a couple of notes..

1) I haven't been impressed with the job he has done with the development of this linebacking corp, so for him to be a prime candidate for the DC job here is an error in my opinion..

2) His desire is to be a head coach in this league.

3) Let say I am wrong and he becomes a stellar DC.. with his open desire to become a HC and leading a successful turn around to this defense will only ensure that he will be a prime candidate next offseason for a HC job.. which in that chain of events would leave us with 3 DC in three years..

I do not know him personally, but by the performance of his pupils over the course of three years, and none of the players really speak glowing of him.. I don't endorse him as our DC.

So please Rams.. hire him, quickly.

I hope he leaves for a lot of reason. It's harder to fire Sanders our D/C, bring someone new as a D/C to be the boss of the defense considering Moss is the Assistant Coach and the linebacker coach. Now that's not the reason I want him to leave, mainly the reason is that our defense not only has been getting killed by the other team's run but also the other team's TE's, Moss hasn't done that great of a job, secondly if Moss we're to be the D/C people don't realize that we would be keeping the same scheme which please don't let that happen or we're doomed again. We need a D/C that will change the scheme and get some effective blitzing and make our superstar linebackers play pro bowl level

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.

Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
