It must be really tough for his teammates to tell reporters that they have confidence in him. I don't think I could do it. I'm not a good liar and I suck at bullshitting. Would probably just say "no comment."

What about you? Could you spew out all the "we have confidence in Jay" cliches while keeping a straight face?

I would say Josh McNown did a fairly good job not turning the ball over.

If I am Brandon Marshall, I do anything for the man. I don't think many other guys on that squad are more favorable to him but I could be wrong. In any case, I would go to bat for him for sure because I have seen him do great things.

If you're Cutler and end up losing this game, is there a contract offer waiting for you prior to free agency? This guy was brought in to get the Bears over the hump and has failed miserably, considering what was given up for him. Will the Bears pony up? I really have my doubts if the Bears lose Sunday.

The one thing that he is good at - he is willing to take a chance on a play. High risk, high reward - often Jay will throw one up and see what happens. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it bites him in the ass.Considering he has Marshall and Jeffery - I would be tempted to take a few shots now and then too.

All said and done - Cutler will probably stay in Chicago. As much as they have invested in him, it is hard to see them cut him loose. If I were in their office, I would probably look elsewhere for a long term solution. Sign him for the right price, or let him walk. If there was no reasonable way to keep him, sign McCown to a 3-4 year deal and draft a QB to groom into the future starter.

I'd send him a nice knowing ya card and copy the management so they get the hint.

This one is on the defense and not Cutler. The only pick he threw was the hail mary at the end.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

McCown's 66% completions, 109 QB rating and 13-1 td-int would be enough for me to say he gets the nod next year to prove himself. The lower pay check makes it a lock. If I were his teammate.

If I was Jay Cutler's teammate?

1. Smack that whiny boy look off is face.. guy just looks like he doesn't give a shit and is about to cry about it.
2. I would consider demanding a trade.
3. Lobby for the coach to feed Forte the ball more and minimizing the reliance on Jay's decision making and invest heavily on defense.

Gotta hand it to him though for yesterday, the Bears didn't lose because of him. Only "high" level QB I have seen with a more fragile ego/confidence was McNabb in the last decade or so.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
