Well to be honest with Ryan i would love to give him a chance. You can laugh all you want but look what Singletary has done in SF. He showed who was boss he took a #5 draft pick and sent his ass to the locker room. Ok ya he also dropped his pants in the locker room, but honestly i think thats what this team needs is a coach that won't put up with the bs. You produce or your benched i don't care who you are attitude.

I won't argue that he could be good. He might be awesome. But that's a hunch, and nothing more. So again I'm saying that if you fire McCarthy to hire Ryan then you aren't doing it for football reasons - you're simply scapegoating McCarthy to satisfy the bloodlust of the kinds of fans who want everyone fired after any disappointment.
And I'm not even saying that isn't valid. But I don't see a lot in the way of evidence to suggest that sort of strategy results in long-term winning teams. If we do that and the team still underperforms, do we then just fire Ryan and take a flyer on another unproven HC?
If McCarthy gets the blame for this season, then he should get credit for last season. That gives him one 8-8 season, a superb 13-3 season and this disappointing season. I just don't see firing him and going with an unknown until we see what he can do next season.
But that's just me, and your points are totally valid.
