On a side note, when I have been at games and the Packers are doing well, sometimes I just sit and listen to the crowd when the Pack makes a big play. Try it some time! The power of 70 thousand-plus fans screaming is something to behold! When you just take it in without yelling yourself, you really FEEL what the power of it is!

The thing is it went on for minutes and minutes. Not steady for minutes on end but it just built and built as the vikings came to the line until the play was over and then it fell almost dead silent until they broke the huddle and it started all over again and this lasted for minutes. If I recall they ran 10 or 11 plays after the 2 minute warning and all were on our end of the field. It may not have set records but if not I can't imagine being in Seattle (or KC)

Each to their own.. but I cannot bring myself to boo an athlete or team. Not that it is right or wrong, just it is not for me.

I couldn't even boo Favre on his return... or Moss for mooning the crowd (albeit that had more to do with the fans at Lambeau lobbing insults at him prior to it).

I think it all depends... I used to think there wasn't a good reason for crowds to chant swear words. And then I think the replacements refs clearly got a call against the Ravens while in Baltimore and the crowd clearly changed my mind on that one as I was LOVING the "BULL S#!@" chant towards the replacement refs.

And hey the Packers players did seem to reponse to the the booing... sometimes the players need some energy from the crowd and booing is energy. And it's motivation for them to play better.

THAT BEING SAID... I've also been on the field in a blow out loss where one of the parents in the stands made a complete and total ass of himself and made us all feel horrible and unmotivated to be there (or anywhere else within yelling distance of him) and I think it was HORRIBLE etiquetter by him.

So I guess it all depends on how it's being done and why and how far they go with it.

So this is an older thread, but it got me thinking about it with Brett Favre coming back to town. I have kind of went back and forth on this subject. The more I think about it, I can't see myself booing anyone on "my" team. I would certainly boo a blown call I feel.

When do you think it's time to boo and do you have reasons behind it?
