Tolzien’s five interceptions are one more than Rodgers threw in seven games this season. But on the flip side, the third-year quarterback has been very accurate, particularly with downfield passes against the Giants.
“I have never seen a quarterback hit all his big throws like that in a game,” said McCarthy. “That was the most impressive big-play, big-pass play production from a quarterback.”
Tolzien had completions of 25, 45, 26, 29 and 52 yards on his way to a 339-yard day.
“I can’t think of another time in my career that I’ve had someone hit every one,” said McCarthy. “Every big shot we called (Sunday), we hit them. Excellent protection, took a couple of hits on the throws, but the ball placement was extraordinary.”
