Aaron Rodgers finished fourth in the league in total passing yards. I thought he was going to be something like 7 - 10.

Incredible. I'm so excited he's our quarterback of the future.

What impact will the San Diego/Denver game have on his rank? Jay Cutler was ranked #3 in yards coming into this game.

Rodgers is very good...better than I had hoped for.

That is really impressive.

What I find even more impressive is that we all forgot about the back-up QB. He played so well while injured and just kept going, that everyone forgot about having two rookies behind him after week 3.

I was one of the guys that wanted to have a veteran to back him up for when he got injured, but has he proven me wrong....

I actually didn't want Thompson to bring in a veteran backup. I didn't want to see Rodgers looking over his shoulder every time he had a bad play. I didn't want to hear the fans chant for the backup every time things didn't go well. Having the two rookies in reserve has worked out awesome for Rodgers, giving him a chance to mature into a seasoned starter and to showcase the depth of his talent.

I did. And I don't mind going on record about it - even if in retrospect it didn't matter. At the start of the season it was foolish in the extreme to rely on rookie backups, especially after they'd performed so poorly in the preseason.

But I don't want to derail the thread. Aaron had a great year - better than we could have hoped for. Too bad the rest of the team fell apart around him.
