OK, I have always suspected that Bears fans must have something misswired in their brains simply because they are Bears fans. Now I am certain of it. I was having breakfast this morning with two Bears fans and they were lamenting the rash of injuries suffered this past week by the Bears. One of them complained that its not fair that the Bears should suffer all those injuries and that no other team has suffered as many injuries as the Bears. I said "excuse me, two wide receivers lost in one game. Our best defensive player. Two defensive starters from last season from day one. Two starting linebackers. Our #1 tight end. Losing running backs in three straight games, do you want me to go on?" The other Bears fan looked at me seriously and simply said "that's different" Different? how so" I asked. "well" he replied, " Packers injuries are not as big of a deal because they are used to it.

On top of it all I had to buy breakfast and after listening to them whine for an hour I almost lost mine.

1) Yes, Bears fans are already positioning themselves for the butt whipping the Pack is going to put on them in front of the whole world no less.

2) I have said now for a couple of years that the Bears sold out trying to save Lovie and giving away draft picks and signing big time contracts that ate into their depth.

The Pack isn't any more USED to injury than anybody else. They are just better prepared with a deeper roster of young talent and a coaching staff that works hard to get them ready to play.

I will give the Bears this though. It does suck that they lost Cutler. Any team that loses their QB hurts. Of course that's amplified by the #1 draft picks he cost them that they don't have either.

well done sschind. Don't forget 2 OT both #1 picks. Tretter and I'll ignore van Roten. DuJaun Harris was suppose to be the starting RB as of training camp. (wink)

I am also leaving all the other PUP and IR players off.

He doesn't have Cutler's upside but he doesn't have the nasty turnover habit (at least not as bad as Cutler). Bears defense will generate turnovers even if they're getting gashed this year and their special teams are always great. If Forte does alright and McCowen plays okay, they're still looking at playoff contention by the time Cutler gets back.

If they lose all three that will give them 6 losses and it could come down to the last game against us to get to ten wins. They also have Dallas later although Cutler should be back by then. Even with him back I'm not sure they are good enough to beat the Cowboys.

Very iffy I would say.
