One of the pet peeves I have is people spelling my name wrong. My name is quite simple. And the reason I'm so particular with how it's spelled is because shortly after I turned 18, there was another Kevin with my name (minus Jr) that completely abolished my credit, along with some things from my father.
This happens out of pure laziness. Each of the Kevin's were DECADES older than me and yet my credit got turned to shit because of it. It wasn't until early 2010 I had all of those items removed and could start building credit.
Moving forward ...
I learned to make sure EVERYTHING has "Jr" on it, just like my birth certificate has and everything else. Yet, at places like mechanics or even employers still screw it up.
Anyhow, I got to my office this morning and had an envelope withOUT the Jr suffix on it. I mean really, is it that hard to put it down?
Would you take William Smith and write William Smi? No, so why the hell is it so hard to add the damn suffix? It's part of the legal name!!
Oh and the argument of "well your dad doesn't work here" is just ignorant. Fact is, I am Jr, that's WHO I am!
Okay, off the soap box. It's not as big of a deal as I just ranted there, but I went over the top to give it a little humor touch. 🙂
