I just watched Stephen A. and Bayliss on ESPN2. They both referred to the Bengals as a loaded team - everywhere except QB, and there, Dalton is slightly above average. They said Cincinnati is the consensus favorite in the AFC North, yet the Packers are 2 1/2 point favorites on the road. Both picked the Packers to beat that point spread.

I didn't realize until I heard them say it, no team in NFL history had both a 450 yard passer and a 125 yard rusher in the same game until the Packers last week.

Our team is loaded too. It just goes without saying.

The Bengals are picked to win their division simply because their division went from being one of the toughest (Browns being the exception) to one of the worst in a matter of 1 season. Ravens will struggle this year, Steelers will maybe hit .500 and the Browns just gave up in week 2.

I do believe the Bengals have a good team, just not a stacked team. Outside of AJ Green, they are average. Dalton has his days but if AJ isn't having a good day, neither is Dalton.

They have a great offensive and defensive line (jealous that they have both). This is really the only stacked part of their team.

I would say they are a fairly "loaded team." However, one of their weak links happens to be the most important position on the field: QB. With an average QB, it's very difficult for the team as a whole to be much more than good. They may be "loaded" and have a good team, but it's not THAT good to make them an elite team even with average QB play.

Dalton may play really well occasionally, but for the most part, the Bengals won't be a serious threat to a team like Denver this season in the playoffs unless he starts playing a lot better consistently. I doubt it will happen, but I suppose it could. If I were betting, I would bet against it, however. They will be in the playoffs though and should at least win a game.

I was listening to Homer and Thunder and they were saying that they are leaning towards the Bengals.. Plus they also pointed out that the Redskins were a bad team so that game didn't count, or whatever they were trying to get at.. I mean seriously.. Is the Bengals that good? We barely lost to San Francisco, a "loaded team". The Bears beat the Bengals, and Cutler shreaded them at times in that game. They beat a bad steelers team. They don't have much to write home about as much as we do.

That defense is good, but that backend can be exposed. I wonder if it's because Lacy is banged up, people are saying the Bengals will win. I understand we would only have 2 running backs on gameday, but It's not like we have a Christen Ponder playing at QB. We got Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers looks to come out in this season fast unlike last season. I expect another good performance. Honestly the only defense that will give Rodgers fits is Seattle and the Bears. I don't expect the Bengals to give us problems.

I just worry about our defense for the most part. But on the Brightside it has gotten steadily better, giving up 0 points in the first half last week. I hope we continue to blitz because that's what this defense does best. Did anyone notice we subbed guys in and out towards the end of the game? Idk if that caused us to give up a couple touchdowns, but we need to finish better on defense. Definitely played better though.

I'm thinking the Packers win this game and give up 6 less points this game. 28-13

Their losses will come from the teams best suited to exploit that weaknesses (that's a huge revelation ain't it) Unfortunately for the Bengals their biggest weakness is the most important position on the team. That also helps the Packers because our biggest weakness (our secondary) corresponds with their biggest weakness. If we can pressure Dalton I think we win rather easily. Not that he can't throw the ball, just that I think he can be forced into making mistakes. Our front seven can help take a little pressure off our weakness but I don't think their running game is not good enough (yet) to take similar pressure off their weakness.

I don't think their pass defense is good enough to stop Rodgers and I don't think think their offense is good enough to keep up. They will win many games this year because they won't play many teams with an offense like the Packers. Teams that are more running oriented will struggle against them. The Packers are certainly not run oriented.

34 -20 Packers

Starks 17/62 1 TD
Rodgers 26/35 352 yards 3 TDs
Cobb 6/102
Jones 5/71 1 TD
Nelson 5/ 91 1 TD
Finley 4/56 1 TD

I watched the game, and what stood out for me, was they have a good run game. If you can stop the run game witch I feel we can do, Dalton doesn't like getting out of his comfort zone that's where he makes mistakes,if you get Green witch I think even our secondary can do this is a win for the pack, they do have a good d-line but we will have to many passing weapons run game may not be big factor they are good at stopping the run, just not A-rod.

I think Cobb might have a tough time because they'll use Leon Hall on him who is a top 3 if not the best slot coverage CB in the league. I don't think their LBs/Ss are anything special though so I think Jermichael will have a game.

Although I would appreciate it if Finley and Cobb could get at least a Td and a half century in yards.

TheKanataThrilla (47m) : Exactly buck...Washington came up with the ball. It is just a shitty coincidence one week later
buckeyepackfan (48m) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (49m) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (55m) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (56m) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (1h) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL
Mucky Tundra (1h) : I think this games over

Mucky Tundra (2h) : This game looks too big for Washington
packerfanoutwest (5h) : that being said, The Ravens are the Browns
packerfanoutwest (5h) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (5h) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,
beast (16h) : Someone pointed out, with Raiders hiring Carroll, the division games between Carroll and Jim Harbaugh are back on (who can whine more games)

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
