The big three — and I literally mean the B-I-G three — on the Packers defensive line have come to play through the season's first two games. Packers = soft? It looks like B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly have taken it upon themselves to change that equation. The trio, which weighs a combined [...]

I love watching the big boys put a dent in the OL. I don't think the Defense as a whole has jelled. We will see more a lot more from them in the next few weeks.

Yeah, I guess within limitations, they have done a good job. Maybe, however, that is only a good job in comparison to the gross weakness against the run we have seen for several years. A lot of other teams have equally effective run stoppers who have a lot more ability to pressure the QB. Also, before we get too carried away with the wonderfulness of these biggies, they gave up a LOT of rushing yards against Washington, despite the fact that Washington was way behind and playing catch up.

They ate up the blocks and allowed the linebackers to fill. The problems I saw in tackling were mostly either:
1) players were just barely too far away (I recall plays in which Hawk or Daniels had to lay-out and couldn't quite make the play), or
2) Alfred Morris dominated smaller players (which shouldn't be too surprising)... not to mention any names, but a couple DBs were not consistent in wrapping up.

So yeah, I'm going to go ahead and be a little excited about our D-line play thus far.

I LOVE the big 3, and I'm very grateful to have Pick, Raji and Jolly on our DL. They will carry us to the Superbowl, and another Lombardi Trophy. Here's to big fatties!

Would suggest people go back and watch games from the past. The defense has been extremely tough up the gut for a few years. Most rushing yardage against the defense has been from plays that bounce outside, or at least outside of the bigs.

Will need to see how they do when rush defense isn't as much of a priority in the gameplan.
