Aaron on the 49ers loss Okay guys, listen to the last minute of this interview.
(you will have to turn up the volume to hear the question).
If my ears are not mistaken, the question comes from one of the local columnists in Green Bay.
He does the packer interviews on packers.com(well respected guy)
Anyhow, the question was "do you feel there is a gap between these two teams now?"
Aaron's answer to that?
"I don't understand the question"
The columnist repeated it and Aaron smirked with a smug annoyance and replied
"I don't appreciate that question, nor do I understand it..."
That is a legitimate question!!?
Why can't Aaron even be honest about that?
It takes brevity to honestly assess your team.
Aaron could say things like "We are jut not where we need to be..that's the gap"
But instead, he takes this defensive, sour, approach that is starting to leak out about his leadership (ala Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. Personally I think Jennings talks too much and contradicts being humble with his talking..but that's another story for another day).
I met Aaron at the Philadelphia airport, and he seems like an okay guy. But even then, Aaron's personality was a little chippy.
However, this question after the 9ers game was not warranting that kind of response.
Nitpicking? Maybe.
I think he's just trying to not acknowledge a gap and feels his team is still the top dog.
Reality and perception are not always the same, and a 110mil QB would serve himself well to be honest about it.
To me, that would show more leadership.
