During Sunday's 49ers-Packers game, there were offsetting penalties after Packers linebacker Clay Matthews hit 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick out of bounds at the end of a run. Matthews was penalized and so was 49ers tackle Joe Staley, which should have led to fourth down for the Packers. The officials ordered a replay of third down,...

Yes, the refs screwed up.

But in the end, our D had a chance to stop the niners and get the ball back for our O, and they sucked and couldn't get it done.

Why do we always "have to let it go"? It may not have changed the outcome, but I know last year's "we have to let it go" changed the outcome of that game, and quite possibly our playoff schedule.

Are there fines for these egregious errors?

How about the missed facemask call when one of the niners grabbed I believe it was Lacy, and held on for a long time. HOW did the blind refs miss that???

The packers should be thanking the refs that staley got some ticky tack offsetting after clay punched him which was the second infraction on that play cm3 should have been ejected for. Plus there would have been no play for cm3 to act like an idiot during if m.m. hadn't opted to give san fran another down to play with to score with. The small technicality everyone is focusing on pales in comparison to the gifts the refs gave gb on that very same play or the self inflicted wounds courtesy of m.m.

I agree that this call can't be an excuse, but damn, the refs should get this stuff right. The Packers aren't going to win against the 49'ers and a few screw ups by the refs.

Packers could beat the 9ers AND the refs.

They chose not to.
