Donald Driver will be a Packer in '09. Look at his numbers. A drop off in receptions in yards, sure. But not TDs. How many does he have so far?

Plus, I'm pretty sure his teammates love the guy. He's a class act. He's someone you want in your locker room.

I sure hope he doesn't leave the Packers....he will definitely be in the Packers' history books.

Also, I think he will get the 1,000 yard mark this year. He only needs 99 to get there.

What I admire is that he goes across the middle. Everyone knows that if you go across the middle that there is a linebacker or saftey waiting to light you up, but Driver does it consistently. Was it on MNF where they said he has the most catches in between the hashes of any active player? I know I saw it somewhere.

While I firmly believe Driver will be a Packer next year, it's not for any of the reasons listed above. I don't think Ted Thompson makes personnel decisions on this basis. If he did, Favre would never have been let go (nor would Rivera, Wahle, Franks, or any of a number of other "fan favorites"). I think, barring injury, Driver will make the roster on the merits of his performance.



Not only is he willing to go over the middle, he leads the league in yards caught up the middle since coming into the NFL. It's not a stretch to say he is a unique receiver -- the vast majority of his yards (well over 75%) come over the middle.

I also love watching him battle the defenders. He refuses to go down, constantly wriggling for that extra yard or two, yet he never seems to lose the football. There's nothing I hate worse than a showboating receiver or running back trying to get that extra yard and then watching helplessly as the ball gets stripped. It really pisses me off when the ball carrier has already got the first down and is just showing off. Unless you know what you're doing, get the first down and get back to the huddle.

Driver should be a packer till he retires. Why give up the NFC's version of hines ward a tough humble person that never complains and gives the game his fullest everytime he plays. Green Bay would be stupid to let him go.

Heh. Here I am bumping my own thread, but I think this needs to be said.
Driver now has the Packers' record for most straight 1000-yard seasons with five. This is right after that beautiful bomb by Aaron and the nice run and dodging tackles by Driver for his 5th TD of the season.
