At this point I don't know if I'd count on Sherrod coming off PUP. It's getting so late that it wouldn't really do him or the team much good to take him off and have him try to get back into it with only half of training camp left.

I like seeing roster predictions but, this was a bit confusing, like having WR (6) then only listing 5 guys. I know Nelson was on the inactive list, but I think it would of been better having them all up top, at their positions then later listing which one you think will be inactive week 1.

Also I prefer listing them in order of what the person thinks the starting order is over the alphabetical way, but that's not a big deal.

The surprising for me would be

1) Only 9 players between DL and OLB? ... I think the Packers have always started the season will 10 between the two positions and I believe that will still be true this season. The defense needs to stay strong and fresh on the front and those guys are the front.

2) Hyde doesn't make the final roster? After all the positive reports from practices and the Packers giving rookies an edge. I just find it hard to believe he won't make the final roster. Also he should be able to help on STs.

3) DL Wilson and RB Starks... just think Wilson is better in the coaches mind than the fans mind. And one of the RBs have to go, which is a bit disappointing, because they all had nice potential but haven't yet lived up to it.

4) You think they might use a PS spot on a FB? That would a surprise to me, but interesting one.

I like starks for a shoe in rather then green - I dont like harris but Im not the coach so he may get in.

I also think we lose 1 DB and ad it to either LB or OL ahh not sure about walker - so maybe only 5 WRs and ad a OL or Dline

Is there something i'm missing with Green? Seems like everyone is putting him above Starks in the 53. Green is getting shoved back in the depth chart.

Imo I think i'd rather go with Lacy, Harris, Starks, Franklin instead of Lacy, Harris, Green, Franklin. Green will be a tough cut indeed, but I think he's gonna get cut unless he really has a strong 3 games this preseason.

RE:

1. Sherrod. I simply forgot he was on PUP. I don't know who I'd put in that spot. Maybe another NR.

2. Starks v. Green. I flipped a coin. I wouldn't be surprised if both are gone. I would be very surprised, make that extremely surprised, if both make the roster.

3. WR: I expect them to leave a spot open for Nelson at least temporarily. After he's back, one of the others is gone.

4. Wilson: I've never understood what coaches have seen in him. To me, he's been just a guy, the Jarret Bush of the DL (but without JB's top level ST play).

5. DL/OLB: I just don't see enough talent to have anyone else currently on roster stay to be inactive on game day and be an injury replacement. Maybe another will be picked up after cuts (i.e. making NR for DL instead of DB). I'd rather see more DL myself. But they don't usually do what I want in this regard.

6. Hyde: I'm not as sold as others are. If you keep him for special teams, that means he's making the top 46. (It's the same argument I made about Bush in another thread.) Despite the awful game against Arizona, I think the coaches are still putting him above both Bush and Hyde in the defensive backfield. Plus Hyde may be stashable on the practice squad for at least part of the season. Long term, I'd prefer Hyde over Bush, but right now Bush is the best ST player that GB has. I'm not seeing Mike McCarthy et al taking the gamble that he can be replaced just yet.

Kinda stupid not to, a team would pick him up in a heart beat if he was put on the PS.

As for Wilson, I'm on the same page as to why he has started the last few years. But this year he has came on in camp. I'd put him as one of our top backups, if Jones ever goes down during the season for a game or 2 (Knock on wood), i'd put Mike Daniels there before him. Maybe Neal, if his role as a OLB isn't permanent.

I probably have to think at WR we keep Walker on the roster if he keeps up his production.

Pickett is just the best at it so he gets the most backing but Wilson is in the same boat (but worse).

An important question is who's a bette run stuffer, Wilson or Jolly? ... also important question are the Packers willing to trust cutting Wilson for a 30 year old players who's been out of football for years. I think Wilson is a lot higher on the coaches board than the fans board. Also don't forget they got that Boyd kid also in this mix.

So that's basically the DL... and I just don't think they'll go lighter than 10 guys from a numbers stand point.

But it sounds like that Mulumba kid is impressing at times.

Also if Neal is the 4th OLB, they might keep another DL. Like keeping two of the following Jolly, Wilson, Boyd

Zero2Cool (8h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (8h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.

dfosterf (13h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (13h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (13h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (14h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (14h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (14h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
