Aaron Rodgers connected with James Jones on a 50-yard gain in his only series, and Vince Young showed flashes of potential just three days after signing with Green Bay. But those were among the only highlights for the Packers.

Defense was ok. Pass defense struggled a bit, run D was ok. Be interesting to see the stats.

If our QBs didnt completely blow chunks, the team would have looked MUCH better. Agreed though that Young showed potential.

Positives:
Tackling and getting to the ballcarrier, primarily vs the running game. Very solid.
Rodgers (for the one series he was out there).
Starks looked good and I'm hoping to see more of Franklin

Negatives:
Holes in the pass defense
Turnovers
SERIOUS lack of pressure on the QB.
Dropped balls, admittedly mostly by the extreme low end of the chart. But still.
People getting to Ross before the 15 on multiple kick returns. And penalties on returns.

The story of this game to me was the veterans showing their worth. Experience really matters in professional football and the plays tonight were pretty much exclusively made by veterans.

Quick shots

- Bakhtiari looked good. Thank God
- Running game was very underwhelming after the 2nd offensive line switch
- WR Walker plays and acts like a pro. He is playing his way on the final 53. Not sure anyone else did tonight.
- Pass Rush was pretty poor all night. Daniels is still a stand out to me on a team with few of them. He did not seem to get too many snaps.
- We currently do not have a backup QB ready to go. The 3rd line did little favors but they were all pretty poor. Vince gets a slight pass.

I was stuck babysitting a five-year old and three-year old (I mean five-in-a-half and three-in-a-half), so I wasn't quite able to focus on the game as much as I wanted.

What I saw, though, was they weren't giving David Bakhtiari much help. They basically threw him out there and let him play. He has a nice finish to him, which I think is lacking on this o-line. He’s making steady progress. There will be bumps (I saw him poorly execute a run block), but I’m cautiously optimistic.

I saw John Abraham school Marshall Newhouse in what I expect foreshadowed things to come this season.

Johnathan Franklin looked okay. He still hasn't lived up to my lofty expectations, but you can see the potential. I'm waiting for him to bust out ala Tyrell Sutton a few years ago.

Davon House is going to want a mulligan on this game. They twice beat him badly.

Pity the offense couldn't get more going and get close enough for Crosby and Tavecchio to try some FGs.

The biggest problem is people focus a little too much on how the team played as a unit. None of that matters one bit there is no scheming for this game and all of the play calls are pretty vanilla. What you need to look at is how players did individually. Just because one guy gives up a 30 yard pass play that doesn't mean the other 10 guys failed, don't just say "the secondary sucked" because this isn't like a normal game these games are about seeing what individual players can do out there.

Oh, no steveishere. The secondary sucked. So did our DL. So did our LBs. They all work together, as you are probably alluding to, but they sucked. They all sucked.

And Harrell!!!! Holy shit, did he look awful. WTF Mike McCarthy? THAT's where you are in your preparation???? Wow. Could not be more underwhelming, disappointing or SOFT!!!! Way to get that fixed Mike!
