T.J. Lang thought the transition from starting left guard to starting right guard would be more difficult than it’s been.
The fifth-year pro had all the movements of a left guard ingrained into his muscle memory after starting 31 games there last two seasons. But three days into training camp, including his first practice in pads at his new starting spot, he feels as good as he could hope to with his stance and footwork reversed on the right side.

“The early stage of the transition is making sure you feel out a good comfortable stance, that’s what it starts with,” Lang said. “After that it’s just working the technique that we do in the individual drills. If you’d have asked me the first day how I thought it would be going, I wouldn’t say as good as it has so far.”

Getting Lang comfortable on the right side will be one of the keys to the offense this year.

He'll be fine.

The guy is a great guard. I had no doubts he'd be comfortable.

It is funny when you think about it. This guy has played everywhere on the line during his time here! I am pretty sure the only position he hasn't been forced to play yet is center.

I've always like Lang and hope he can breakout this year to rival Sitton as our best OL. Of course, I hope that for all the other O linemen also.

I am less concerned about Lang's ability of switching sides of the line. What I am more interested in is who his partner in crime will be on his right side and how well they work together. It is nice to hear from him that he is getting comfortable and the task at hand isn't above him.
