My gut tells me it is precautionary and that we see him by next Tuesday practicing with the defense.
Circular Arguments: They are a heck of an annoyance

Yeah, I'm not concerned until I read something to make me concerned. Any of those guys could be activated tomorrow, or next week, etc. At this point, it doesn't mean much more than the players missing some practice time. That's not ideal, but if it's just a little practice time, I don't think it's going to be a big deal, especially for non-rookies. Sherrod is the only one that concerns me, mostly because we've heard almost nothing positive about him. It seems like he may still be a year away from even attempting to contribute.

I think Derek Sherrod might be closer than some think. He was trying to practice last season, but was stiff per reports.

Mike Neal seems to be made out of glass. I don't recall him being injured so I'm not sure what is up with him.

I just haven't read much encouraging about Sherrod, but that may be because there simply hasn't been much detailed information about his situation period. That could mean he's very close, or he's had more setbacks and is still very far away. I'm not sure we can know one way, or another yet.

As for Neal, it could be something as simple as a minor ankle sprain, a slight bone bruise, a jammed finger, etc. Until there is more concrete evidence, getting worried about it is just speculation. He seemed to be healthy recently, so I'm going to hope that's he's very close to healthy and will return to the practice field sooner rather than later. At least until I read something to the contrary.

Well, at least Sherrod is "running."

Derrick Sherrod is running from drill to dri ll with his teammates but obviously the doctors didn't think he was ready to practice.

Another Edit. Damn, not encouraging:

Here's McCarthy: injuries, DuJuan Harris has a knee that could be a week or two. Neal and Hayward are a couple weeks away. Lattimore and House illness. Powell has a foot.

Looks like it's going to be another long season injury wise.

Some of those guys can still move out of this category, but based purely off what they have given so far, this is where they are.

Solid:
-College
-Jackson
-Nelson (had an amazing 2011, not much else)

Great:
-Barnett

You will not address Daryn Colledge as "College". You show him respect that he deserves! The Packers haven't been back to the Super Bowl since his departure. That is all you need to know about him.

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
