Just about every season I ask the same question: Why is Jarrett Bush still a member of the Green Bay Packers? Heading into his eighth season with the team, Bush has seemingly hung on because of his special teams skills and his usefulness in filling the void when injured starters can no longer play. It [...]

Well if someone else steps up and plays spot duty and special teams better than he does, then he is expendable, so come on backups and show him up! Otherwise, more Bush in our future :)

PS. I got no problems with Bush.

He gets one more year before they start trying to phase him out.

Getting to be that age.

Why is Jarrett Bush still a member of the Green Bay Packers?

Bush is still a member of the Packers because he has CLEARLY been the best gunner the Packers have had lately.
To be a good gunner you need to be able to get off blocks/jams, race down field and tackle the returner.

Some of the WRs can get off blocks and race down field but aren't used to tackling and aren't used as gunner often.
Lots of other DBs can race down field and tackle the returner but none of the other DBs have been able to get off jams/blocks half as well as he can.
I forget who noted it, but Bush has gotten off double team jams (often times from the Bears) better than others have gotten off single jams.

I've heard rumors about rookie CB Micah Hyde could be a very good gunner and House did seem to be getting better at it before his injury, but a lot is left to be seen.

There are seveal reasons The packers Special team play has vastley improved the last few years.

One of the biggest is everybody's "whipping boy" Jarrett Bush!!!

There are plenty of db's who could take tackling lessons from Jarret Bush.

He's under contract and is worth every bit he is paid.

Can't these guys find something better to report on?

Same old tired stories year after year during the down time.

I totally agree with you on Jarrett "the cat" Bush. Until somebody can gun better than he does, he is worth the roster spot. But I don't ever want to see him in coverage again. The pick in the super bowl was his 15 minutes of fame.

dfosterf (5h) : 50 cent hookers? I'm moving to Green Bay. I thought it was just real estate that was more affordable there. 😂

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Did Savion Williams run into a goalpost or something?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : also, no bueno when a guy starts getting concussions right off the bat in his career
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
Mucky Tundra (25-Jul) : @AndyHermanNFL Jordy Nelson out at camp today. No word if he’s in play for one of the two open roster spots ; )
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Is that better or worse than Banks bad back?
Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Savion concussion ... not good.
packerfanoutwest (24-Jul) : Aaron Rodgers’s first pass of first team period was picked off
Mucky Tundra (24-Jul) : tbh I didn't hear of his passing
