A couple of weekends ago when Green Bay Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy stood at the podium in the media center at Lambeau Field talking about what he had seen from his rookies, one name was brought up a couple of times as having stood out among the bunch — running back Angelo Pease. McCarthy [...]

I think he is more likely to make the team than Starks or Green at this point, as he is younger and looks like a gamer, but he may have numbers working against him. Hard to imagine they keep more than 3 and Kuhn, and I think Harris and the other two rookies are in. He'd certainly be on the practice squad in that case, but of course, rookie OTA in shorts does not a training camp case make.

I think we can assume Lacy and Franklin are locks for the final roster which is while I find the RB battle for the other one or two spots so interesting.

I still think Starks has shown the best stuff of the rest but he can't stay healthy which is a huge negative and if he gets injured again he'll be gone. He might have to prove he's the #1 RB to stay which might be very tough.

Green has/had all the physical tools, but clearly didn't know how to read blocking nor did he have the patients to wait for a hole to develop which are huge problems. He's gotten some what better with his patients but still struggles to read the blocking and has a couple physical injuries and some problems with his knee. Based on what he has said the knee shouldn't be a problem no more.... if it is he could be gone just like Starks. But if he's healthy do you might roll the dice and get him another year to see if all that talent might finally boom.

IMO, Harris isn't flashy at all.... but for the most part he gets the job done and that's what you need. He's a north and south runner, which I love, he has some speed and is able to get into small holes and get up and go... which is very nice and pretty good at reading his blocks.

Pease, I think at the end of the day the Packers will want to keep him on the 53 man roster.... but there just won't be enough room unless he can help out a good bit on STs.

I've never seen the guy take a snap and all I've heard is he had a good run in rookie camp. That doesn't mean very much at this point. I think barring injuries the RBs will be Lacy, Franklin, Harris, Green. I think this year they are done with Starks

had some crazy thoughts about green. if he could add 20-25 more pounds he could be a full back back up but thats just way out there but right now he is the same height as kuhn just 20 pounds lighter. but right now its not looking good for him unless he can beat out harris

I also like the idea of Green switching to FB, but I also doubt it will happen. I think/hope they move on without Kuhn - Ryan Taylor plus Lacy or some other RB for short yardage. I also very much doubt the idea they only keep 3 RBs other than the FB - 4 is a lot more likely. Starks seems to be as good as gone. It will be a shame if he goes on to have a healthy decent career with some other team, but oh well. If Pease really is any good, it will be difficult to stash him on the practice squad. I would put his chance of making the team at about 40/60.

Every year there's stories about a kid like this. At this same position too. Kregg Lumpkin for example. What was the dude last year again?

Anyway I think we're better off than the days of Vernand Morancy and Noah Herron. lol
