Any fucking idiot would have worked very hard to get us a supreme line on both sides of the ball the past few years. He did not work that hard at it. As a result, we left SB trophies for others to get, imo. He's too stupid to even know what he did to us, and the fanbase is too stupid to call him on it. I'm not bitter, though. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and realize what a stupid motherfucker I am as a result. [-(

Just like the idiots who blame the President for everything, you blame Ted Thompson for every shortcoming of the Packers as if it is easy to win Super Bowl after Super Bowl. You need to widen your understanding young man of this game called, football. We're here to help you along the way.

Hey, I've complained about Ted's lacking presence in getting FA players to help the team, and do think one or two might have offset some losses we suffered to injury, but I cannot fault his drafting.

Imagine our team last year had we not lost three players on D to injury: Desmond Bishop, Nick Perry and Jerel Worthy.

Bish would have shut a lot of those middle gains down, and so too Perry. Worthy looked to be just getting it at the NFL level when he was lost. I think the playoffs may have been far different with those 3 healthy.

Two years ago we nearly went undefeated coming off a SB win. All done with Ted's system of player procurement and development. Hindsight is bliss.

Thompson holds to his drafts, and this last one may have been his very best. Give it a couple years. Maybe another Lombardi Trophy or two finds a home in our trophy cases.

A grade. C grade. B grade. It all seems a bit foolish this early to make a call. All GMs make mistakes. Ted drafts better than most. I have no problem supporting him and his efforts to make us better.

No doubt this idiot gave the Eagles an A grade when they assembled the "Dream Team".

Getting Aaron and Clay under long term contracts at least gives you a B in my opinion.

I think he was thinking in terms of relativity where it appears like each of the other team "improved" more. That being said, I think he should have concentrated on grading each team on an individual basis.

Im a bit 'worried' about the lions and especially the niners upgrades this offseason ...

49ers were tough last season and they got some nice additions - even thou they lost a few peeps IMO their upgrades outweigh their losses ...

lions improved also - their frontline is going to be brutal ...

we need to run to the outside ;)

MN and bears not really worried about ...

and as far as this dudes C grade ... bleh - B+ at the worst (we got 2 of the best RBs in the draft) - and drafted some needs at every pick ... decent picks too.

I give the packers a B+. They had great value picks in Lacy and Franklin and both should make an impact right away and improve our overall running attack. Datone Jones is a solid 1st round pick and should give us a decent upgrade over what we had last year. If he plays as well as he did in college for us and does not get injured, I definitely see him improving our line and allowing our other players to make more plays.

The problem with draft/FA grades is figuring out what the grader uses for criteria. Prisco of CBS gave the Packers a C for the same reason others gave them an A or B...namely picking 2 RB's. The fact is, he has a passing game bias and sees this as a waste. The reason Thompson has been so successful in building a deep and talented team is that he gets good value for his picks (getting guys rated above where they were selected) and finding a lot of guys under the radar. He's also been smart enough not to waste salary cap money on players he can project will not be any better than their replacements. Bishop was a cheaper and better alternative to Barnett. Jones is a better alternative to Jennings. More importantly is the age old mantra of "better to lose a guy a year too soon than a year too late" which was CERTAINLY the case with Ahman Green and Brett Favre.

While the other teams in the fivision made some good FA moves and I think the Vikes had an outstanding draft, those teams are all still trying to fill holes while the Packers are adding depth. With few exceptions, the Packers can play at a high level with injury issues while no one in the division has anything close to their depth. Not only did the Packers fix a bad running game and add depth all over, but they have something like the 4th or 5th most cap space left in the league. That's what happens when you don't overpay for a Bushrod, Bush or Jennings.

beast (now) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (2m) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (12m) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (24m) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (33m) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (53m) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (1h) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (1h) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (2h) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (2h) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (2h) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (2h) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (3h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (3h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (4h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (4h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (4h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (4h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (4h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (4h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (4h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (4h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (4h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (4h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (4h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (4h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (5h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (5h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (5h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (5h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (5h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (5h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (5h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (5h) : Packers will get in
beast (5h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (5h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (5h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (7h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (8h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (8h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (8h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (9h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (18h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
