I thought he played pretty well last season. He did not make a lot of flashy plays, but he was tough and solid, at least. This year he's just a bad player. I'm hoping it's because those early-season injuries (chest, groin) are still affecting him because I don't want to think about having to replace a guy who was drafted #1 overall. If he really is as bad as he looks this season, we've got big problems at LB.

His rookie season, he played attacking and played very well for a first year player.. worthy of his draft selection.
Last year, he started to play less aggressive, solid but picked up the Nick Barnett theory of tackling a guy a few years down the field.. but he showed up and played average ball.
This year, after week 2 or so.. he has played with the intimidation of a field mouse.. he is waiting for everything.. Forte run off the left side yesterday.. Chillar pinched down, Hawk had a free lane and angle to make a play.. instead he froze and Forte ran right by him.. then Hawk got on his horse and at least ran down the play from behind.. that is what I am saying when he is playing on his heels... uphill.. not impressed at all.
I keep saying it, I don't see what everyone sees in Moss as a coach for this group.. none of these guys are stepping up and making plays.. Is that all Moss's fault? Probably not, but between the Oline and Linebackers, we have not seen much growth in the younger players coming up.. that speaks of coaching issues.
I seriously don't understand why they haven't slide Hawk back out and inserted either Bishop into the role and see if he can make the adjustment and is a future player or the kid from UConn.. Lansanah.
It is very clear that Hawk isn't the fit for the middle. Period. Not the way he is playing this season at least.
