GLENDALE, Ariz. — The only thing Kansas State co-offensive coordinator Dana Dimel regrets is that he couldn’t get one more year with senior running back Angelo Pease.

“I think people saw tonight what Angelo is really capable of, that talent that I’ve seen all along,” Dimel said. “I think he really has a bright future, I hope he opened some eyes tonight.”

Pease ended his career with the No. 7 Wildcats on a strong note despite the 35-17 loss to No. 5 Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl.

Pease ran for 47 yards on seven carries — a 6.7-yard per carry average — with fellow senior running back John Hubert getting the bulk of the carries. Hubert, the starter, ran for 55 yards on 17 carries. The running backs alternated series for most of the game.

“Rotating is tough, sure, but you have to stick with the game plan,” Pease said. “It’s just like anything else as an athlete, where you want to stay on the field if you feel like you’re hot. When my turn comes up, I’m always willing to go in and give and give my best for my team ... they know I always give it my all.”

Pease transferred to K-State after spending two seasons as a run-first quarterback at Hutchinson Community College. He battled injuries his first season and inconsistency this year.
