Green Bay - Hey, wait a minute, did somebody hoodwink the Green Bay Packers at the last minute?
The guy introduced Sunday in the Packers' locker room as Tony Mandarich, the team's No. 1 draft choice and perhaps the best offensive lineman ever, must have been an imposter.
Oh; he was 6 feet 5 inches tall and 315 pounds, just like Mandarich. But this guy didn't break down the door and stomp over everyone in his path. He wasn't carrying 8,000 pounds of weights on one shoulder and a 6-foot boom box blaring Guns n' Roses on the other. He didn't consume even one of his daily 15,000 calories in the presence of reporters. He was wearing a sweater and a tie, not a muscle shirt and a bandanna. He expressed himself in low, even tones, not grunts and screams.
Will the real Tony Mandarich, the one staring out ominously from the cover of a recent issue of Sports Illustrated, please show up?
